I don't get this guy. Something about him is off. Just had a look at his Twitter feed.

WATCH: @SenPaterson on what can be done to ensure our universities are not being bias in their teaching #theboltreport @SkyNewsAust

I get that right wing media wants right wing personalities and left wing media want left wing personalities - hell media in general want pot stirrers to engage the otherwise apathetic Australia public one way or the other but how does a dude who says stuff like 'being bias' have a nightly TV show and newspaper column?

To me he just comes across like Peter Costello's little brother, if Mrs Costello had said '**** it we've already got 3, I'm going to drink through this pregnancy and see what happens'.

He's that kid at school who was beta-as but just wanted to be loved by the alphas

He's ****ing pathetic

And yet you give him oxygen by always talking about him ;)
Patterson ??

Only when he pokes his reptilian-like head out.

I agree with this but rightly or wrongly they didn’t run candidates in WA because of a shortfall in donations. Labor has plenty of dollars while the LNP does not.

You can still run a dummy candidate and spend very little, so that's just rubbish:

https://www.aec.gov.au/media/media-releases/2018/02-01.htm

A quick look at financial discosures for the last 3 years shows the Liberals received nearly $50 million more than the ALP (not even counting what the Nationals get). It was the same the 3 years before that.

They got more donations and outspent Labor at the 2016 Fed Election. This was due to big business donations to the LNP (and Trumble's own donation not to mention) and despite the LNP's whining about the ban on property developer donations (which was a CCC recommendation), they received more donations at the Queensland State election than all other parties combined.

I still don't get how he winds so many people up. He's not charismatic or entertaining, and he's not particularly articulate either.

Surely there's a better quality right wing stick poker out there they could get.

Didn't know an 8% margin is a marginal seat?
I assume you mean Perth? Perth was retained by the ALP in 2016 by a margin of 4.36% after a swing too it of 1.15%.

A seat with a margin of less than 6% is considered marginal but for mine, I reckon 5% or so is marginal. Perth falls, (use to anyway), fair and square into the marginal seat category.

That says quite a bit about the LNP. The LNP are a mouth piece for big business and the squatocracy but given Australia's political donation disclosure laws, although not transparent enough as far as I'm concerned, big business and the squatocracy don't want to be seen giving dollars to "their" party as it would be too obvious to the everyday, normal person whom they are trying to woo via their Party, the LNP, into believing that big business and the squaters are on the side of the proletariat.

Imagine Rio Tinto or News Corp. (Murdoch has big interests in mining and energy), NAB, ANZ, Western Mining, IPA etc etc etc being seen to give their Party huge donations? They use more insidious methods to dupe the electorate. The Union Movement and other organizations who contribute to the ALP coffers, they are "proud and loud" when it comes to putting their money where their mouth is, so to speak.

I don't know if you know what it's like at polling booths during elections, federal and state, but you will find that he majority of those handing out how-to-vote cards for the LNP, are paid to do so whilst those handing out ALP how-to-vote-cards are, in the overwhelming majority, ALP members or those asscociated with the Labour Movement.

You see Lebbo73, the LNP classify themselves as "anti Labour", in other words, they are an anti party, anti anything that threatens their privilege, status and ability to make oodles of cash with the minimum/no interference from anywhere else. This is what the the anti-climate change morons are all about; they want to be able to use ancient and toxic technologies to make billions of dollars without any interference and without taking any responsibility for poisoning and destroying this planet.

Many years ago a person (very) close to Bolt, told me that he (Bolt) will say anything if the $ are high enough.
Some years later, Bolt then suggested to Panahi, who was originally peddling herself as a "An Age reading Leftist Feminist" that there was far more $ if she switched sides, which she did.

They both do it for dollars

Bolt's history makes it perfectly clear that his current persona was a completely cynical creation of Hun management as part of Murdoch's plan to redneck the rag.

I have heard that said about Bolt and it could well be true and if it is, that is why he is even more of a despicable and disgusting excuse for a human being.

I'm sure dollars and notoriety are driving forces but if you're suggesting he isn't fully committed to the alt right cause I doubt that to be so. I can recall him having a spot on the morning ABC show before he became a big pseudo celebrity and he was spouting his right wing vitriol back then. Remember him saying there weren't sufficient right wing opinion writers in the mainstream media and he planned to fill that void.

Only person on news television that tells it like it is.:thumbsu:

I respect that.
When courts analyse his columns he's found to be so inaccurate that he lost a defamation case and was fined in another case.

Besides that extremely obvious evidence, everyone else can see plain-as-day that he's full of spin.

So, no, he doesn't 'tell it like it is'.

You mean the Sri Lankan column? That's it?

Yeah ok, everything he says is full of it then, wow wee.

Doesn't change the fact he says what most people are thinking.

It doesn't surprise me that you're unaware of the facts, nor what "most people are thinking", given you're a Bolt fan. But thank you for changing you claim about his work so quickly. Facts do matter.
