A bit of a circle jerk here boys.. but it would be hard to argue anything but boyd.. however Sewell would probably be winning our B&F right now..

Boyd has improved this year but i am going to have to go with Sewell.A real gun stands up when his team is winning and losing. Sewells denfensive aspect has dropped a little but i think he is really the only hawk who can hold his head high this year.

I am in no way saying Boyd isn't doing that, but Sewell has done it all year in a struggling team and i think that shows alot.

They both contribute week in week out, very hard to say.

Boyd has been going forward and kicking goals lately, which in my opinion gets him over the line.

Stats wise I think Sewelly smokes Boyd except for goals which I believe is 8 to 2.

Possessions are very even..

Boyd has been a good tagger this year, apart from against Collingwood, but Sewell is clearly the better player. However, Boyd may get the all-Australian nod this year and Sewell may miss out.

Boyd in our losses this year:
v West Coast - 30 disposals and 2 goals
v Carlton - 26 disposals and 2 goals
v St Kilda - 23 disposals
v Geelong - 28 disposals
v Collingwood - 30 disposals and a goal

Ummmm There wasn't any where Boyd was in front.. except Goals which I posted. There were a couple more that Sewell was in front on... 1%ers.. Free Kicks for.. but I didn't really think they were Key Stats.

Others like Possessions, Kicks, Handballs, Marks etc were all very close. Both Averaging 28 touches per game.. From memory both were around 50/50 kicks to handballs.

From what I have seen Boyd doesn't really tag these days.. A ball winner in his own right with a strong accountability.

All Australian has been a farce since Cameron Mooney and Tom Harley made the team a couple of years back. Ohhh yeah then there was the Judd Capt. last year... Having said that.. Boyd is an exceptional player, great team man and would be deserving of a AA selection this year. Unfortunately the Chosen ones Bartel, Ablett, Judd and probably even Selwood are already in the side meaning the likes of Montagna, Cooney, Boyd, Sewell, Black, Murphy, Hayes, Dal Santo etc etc... will be fighting it out for 1 or 2 spots...

Voted Sewell but would love Boyd at the Hawks. These two blokes bust their ass no matter the score and give you 100% at all times.
Two of the hardest and toughest blokes around stoppages and never have any niggle in their games.

Looking back over this thread it amazes me how much footy has changed in just one year. Boyd is now IMO in the best 15 midfielders in the comp and Sewell is playing in the two's.

The biggest change in this time is probably Sewell having his face and shoulder re-constructed, while you waited pathetically for a moment to bump this thread. Not disputing Boyd's standing BTW, he's a gun.
