So what's he got to do with the Essendon shit ?
Bruce is a friend of James Hird, who was asked to turn his OCD towards the saga. Bruce letter bombs lots of media people thinking that they care about his theories. If you've heard Alan Jones' attack if Gil Mac the info Jones used was all provided to him by his old friend Bruce Francis

Watching the Open Mike with Bomber unfortunately there wasn't as much Geelong stuff as I would have liked, but I really enjoyed how much he seem to understand the club and how much it meant to everyone involved to win that 2007 flag. And he obviously got a lot of enjoyment out of making that many people happy.

Just watched the Open Mike on Youtube.

Didn't "buy" everything BT said, esp. about Hird/EFC drug scandal/and 2006 @ Geelong.

However, he is clearly bitter towards the EFC, and obviously regrets the way he let GFC down. Of course he was told at the time he was doing the wrong thing, but he thought he knew better. Now he knows differently.

I almost got the sense towards the end, that he was auditioning for a return to Geelong. I think he wants to come back in some capacity - but I don't think he can.

What a shame. The right thing is so hard to do when our selfishness and pride get in the way - which is so often the case - and we make very bad and disloyal decisions.

I think he can come back under the next coach or the one after - but probably only in a development capacity or as the head coach. If Scott walks away.

Yeah there was almost a little tinge of that. Certainly a longing perhaps for the past, for a group of good solid people with a goal. And an understanding of how rare being a part of a group like that, a time like that may be.

In response to the question about coaching again:
"I just want to work for people I really want to work for, and I want to work in an organisation that I've already seen, like I liked my work at Geelong, I liked working with the people there. And I reckon this industry is a bit hard now, it's a hardcore industry, it's ruthless... and I might find it hard to find a group of people I want to work with."

Scott deserves some scrutiny but I think it is clear the club would be in a worse position now if the change was not made.

Going back to Thompson now would be utter madness.

Is Scott coaching well? I would say no, not at the moment.

Is he the right man for the next 2 years at least? Absolutely.

He's looked like a surprised out of control goofball whenever we get hammered or lose.

Then every press conference for the last 3 years it has been "Oh yeah um well we don't really take any notice of other teams. We just turn up on the the day and play our best..". Same aimless vague crap for years, might be time to start acknowledging and responding to the challenge of the competition.

Personally I'd love Bomber as senior coach. But he's too ****ed in the head to be trusted as a coach at any level of football.

That bloody essendon scandal took away talking more about Geelong. I wanted to hear about the 2009 flag, especially with his reaction in the coaches box.

The 2007 stuff was great, such a shame he wasn't able to pull everyones head in before the 2008 GF.

Yep but why wasn't he able to? And why couldn't he turn it around on the day? That was his job and we were never actually that far down in score terms, yet we never looked likely. Why not?-we were so superior a team, should have just knuckled down and got back into it and run away by 6 goals-coaching!

IF you kick 11.23 in a GF, you don't deserve to win it.

Good kicking is good football. Teams that play good football, win Grand Finals.

The players have to take the responsibility somewhere along the line.

saw the interview on Youtube

regarding the 2008 loss, how Geelong wanted to win all games and by the time the GF came some players were cooked and playing injured.
Think this happened to Collingwood in 2011, they did not learn from us in 2008 and in away contributed to our third flag that not many gave us a chance.

met Bomber about 2 weeks ago

i thanked him and told him how happy I was in 2007 and then how sad in 2008(that sad day I thought I might have to wait another 44 years)
Bomber just shrugged, did not say much.Only he will be doing the commentary down at Geelong the next day.

He is a handsome guy, you hear the females commenting

I wouldn't mind Sandrson coming back as an assistant, depending on what happens with Dangerfield and what the relationship was like when he was sacked. Speculation that maybe they didn't get on, but who knows how real that was. There's a big difference in being an assistant and a senior coach he and Scott seemed to have a good respect for each other and work well together.

Maybe it'd feel a step backwards for Sando but he's a legend of the club and should be welcomed back if the circumstances match.

I want to see BMac and Joel Corey.

Doggies youth have a lot to thank Bmac for and our MF ( outside Sel) could use some of Smithy's hardness and attitude. Would be money well spent.

Go Catters
