If it was a genuine job on merit then it wouldn't have been included in the cap. Including it in the cap was an admission.

Brisbane's biggest problem is they are convinced that Brisbane is an AFL wasteland.

It's quite bizarre how often they mention it.

On field they have some young talent but they are surrounded by plodders. They need a priority pick to help accelerate with their list development (compared to the Giants and Suns one extra pick is light). It's not like they are tanking they just aren't very good.

Off field they need better facilities as players don't just leave because of money it's also due to the environment they are in. The AFL
could assist with this. They also need to think about who will coach them. Leppa has tried but he can't get them to compete.

It is a reality that Brisbane/QLD is a different market compared with the likes of VIC and other AFL dominated states. Probably the most recent example I can give you is that the Lions essentially lost out to the local netball team for funding/facilities (they were given ~30mil, I think for facilities by the government). That ain't happening in VIC.

Well Carlton are over $6 million in debt. If the AFL are generous enough to pay off North Melbourne's debt they can pay off Carlton's too.
Once Brisbane has had more than one or two years down the bottom of the ladder come back to me.

We have been out of the 8 for 7 going on 8 years. Including this year 1 finals appearance in the last 12 years. If it was only 1 or 2 years it would be OK. Carlton over the same period have played in how many final series?

Retention issue is diminishing as currently they haven't resigned Tayor (wants too much) or I think Green (can't remember exactly).

They just don't have the talent so pp as a once off wouldn't be the end of the world.
