Channel 9, on there Today program, have reported a Brownlow leak which has Adam Goodes and Simon Goodwin winning, tied on 28 points. Would have thought its just a rumour, maybe someone had seen the supposed spreadsheet.

I would have thought that West may have got up, but whether the Doggies won enough games to get him enough votes is debatable. The terrible trio and Cox will poll ok for WC, but will likely steal too many votes from each other. Goodes had another good season, he is a possibility. Edwards and Goodwin will poll well. Whats everyone Think??

If true (and it's a huge IF) then Goodes would be getting annoyed that everytime he wins one, he has to share it with a crows player ;)

I got a Brownlow leak email yesterday which said Brad Johnson was going to win it ahead of Goodes and Goodwin...

...these so-called leaks are commonplace at this time of year and are dubious in the extreme.

I hope its true but I very much doubt that Goody wins it. He is just not a great vote getter when it comes to Charlie. Even last year when he had a great season and was one of the favourites he polled pretty average. Edwards polled more votes that Goody did.

I would be happy as pig in **** if Goody got over the line but I doubt it.

I would be surprised if Goody got 28 votes. That's a lot of votes for anyone, let alone Goody who has probably got a combined total of 28 votes. Hopefully last year's obvious lack of votes made the umpires more aware of him this year and he didn't get so overlooked.

i look at it the other way

i;d be annoyed if i were a crow winning the brownlow and having to share it with goodes :o

I doubt Goodwin will win it. He'll always be like West... If Macca played for the entire season then I think he would've been a massive chance. He always seems to get quite a few votes.

Simon Goodwin has a career total of 35 Brownlow votes.
In 2005 he polled 9 votes.

Figures come from the AFL Record 2006 Season Preview.

I got the spreadsheet if anyone wants it.

PM me and I will email it to you. :thumbsu:

Goodes and Goody on 28, Johnson on 27, Blood Boy (Riewoldt) on 26.

I won't be suprised if goody polls well this time around.

Last year's **** run at the charlies probably stuck in the umpires mind. Goodwin has taken more then 30 possessions in a game 8 times this year. Which is pretty impessive. You say he got BOG in at least 5 of those games, that's 21 votes straight up.

He should poll very very well, because he was spoken in the same sentence of 'brownlow' for most of the year with judd. Whereas goods hasn't been in the same vein.

5*3 =! 21
5*3=15

I was going to point that out 5 games x 3 Brownlow votes = 15 votes but I cannot talk as I only gave the average 24 hour day, 12 hour yesterday so my math skill suck at the moment as well.:p :p

The email I got has the following:

TOP 15
S Goodwin 28
A Goodes 28
B Johnson 27
N Riewoldt 26
C Judd 19
N Buckley 18
C Bruce 18
S West 17
S Mitchell 16
N Dal Santo 15
N Thompson 14
B Hall 14
J Brown 13
D Kerr 13
T Edwards 13
C Cornes 13

EDIT - looking at that top 15 should be enough to prove its a hoax.

But 2 votes each from the other 3 (30 possession) games would take him up to 21. I don't know about the "21 votes from 8 games", I think it rarely happens that a player gathers that many votes from every high-possession game, but I do think Goody will run out to an early lead because his first half season was so outstanding. Then he'll taper off and probably be overtaken by others.

Apparently Goody has not been a vote-getter in the past, but then again neither was Tyson Edwards until last year.

The question has to be asked, how the **** does Nick Riewoldt get 26 votes?

Brad Johnson from the Western Bulldogs could get 27 votes as he has been an influential player for them this year and Adam Goodes and Simon Goodwin have both had stand out years but I cannot see how Riewoldt would get 26 votes.

i hope it’s true and correct as Simon Goodwin would be our second Brownlow medalist but I find it hard to believe that Riewoldt would get 26 votes I a poor year for St Kilda.

Your're right,:p if it had been the Top 16 Chad would have made the cut and blown the whole rumour out of the water!

If we are to believe this I find it hard to believe last years winner Ben Cousins doesn't make the top 15:confused:

Theres leaks and hoaxes and people claiming this and that every year with the brownlow. Remember the email last year which had every rounds votes written out etc....come the night first match, first vote - wrong.

Im sure there will be another couple of "leaks" before Monday night.

^ What Jars and Macca said

The umpires do their votes after the game and seal them in an envelope. The envelope isn't opened again until Brownlow night.

The only way anyone could get a full picture is if they spoke to all the umpires or the umpires collaborated amongst themselves. I don't buy it.

it's all a load of crap, DaveW is right, they seal the votes in an envelope, put in a safe and don't get opened until Brownlow night up the front on stage. Every year there are "supposed" leaks but it's all crap. It's made up by some moron who has nothing else better to do.

Ok, no need to get agressive. i made the thread purely for conversational purposes. i dont buy into it either, they are always wrong, and the AFL have measures in place to prevent leaks. but i thought i'd post the thread t osee what others thought of our guys chances and who they thought would poll well!

sorry if I sounded agressive, didn't mean to be.

saint nick never polls as high because he slags the umps, & Juddy will poll more than 19 lol

Goodes won't win, no way~!
Goodwin has had too many good games to get beaten, I think it's outta goodwin and judd.

And perhaps West -- He'll need to pick up a couple of votes in losses to have a chance though! Goodes will poll well though, who at the Swans will take votes away? Hall maybe but not too many
