Agree on that rozee butters have ave possession counts but they have super high score inv that’s why they made AA.
Lions are a really high scoring team lots of opportunities to be involved in a score.
Yes you'd think so but that doesn't really seem to happen. Only really Daniher and sort of Neale have high SI numbers but lower than you would suspect for such a high scoring team

Personally I think its the Lions have a really big spread across multiple players, and as I mentioned a very low ball use to goal scoring ratio.

I’m just trying to give a bit of perspective for those suffering Rayner mania.
Lachie Shultz taken at pick 57 has had a better year than Rayner

Bruv, you don't understand this thread if you're trying to raise some kind of reasoned debate. Heave-ho.

Re read the op I’m sure my dialect is within the parameters of the questions asked.
Sometimes the truth is hard to accept.
I understand

The OP was 15-months ago pre-danster.

Andy Brawshaw is a great player. Perhaps the best we have seen. Heave-ho.

More goals tackles disposals and the same score inv

I got danster to admit rayner > spargo a few pages ago. He has abandoned that claim.
That's fine
I think the fact that I correctly guessed Rayners season averages in the pre-season means I've got a good handle on him. I'll be doing my Rayner reveal in the next pre-season. But letting you in on another secret, it'll be between 14-16 possessions and 1-1.1 goals per game 😀

Drops into the thread to see how it has morphed or stayed the same ...

- Danster Someone continuing to move the statistical goal posts to cover whatever Rayner is not doing ... :whitecheck:

- Danster Someone continuing to adjust the name of the player we should be comparing Cam to when he outstrips the last one ... :whitecheck:

- Danster Someone memory holing the previous assertion without any sign of cognitive dissonance once the previous assertion was no longer valid to his narrative (hmm is he a politician irl?) :whitecheck:

- Danster Someone deciding that meeting a statistical standard now is not acceptable he needs to have retrospecively met that standard from day 1 (guessing he must barrack for a MCG team so is happy with the concept that others must play better to be considered equal ... oh yes there it is!) :whitecheck:

- Noble Lions Random unbiassed posters providing ongoing pushback as to Cam's progress with current output, statistics and intangibles :whitecheck:

- Banter and Bay13 lite interactivity with occassional drop ins from posters taking it all seriously :whitecheck:

Yep same thread different day (a veritable soap opera of a thread!)

Can a Brisbane player change there goa song to up there cazaly I think it would give country road a bit of competition.

Yep, similar stats to Cyril Rioli and he might have a couple of medals that look like Cyrils, a Premiership one and a Norm Smith.

He’d be struggling to sneak a spot, honestly. Rayner’s run of games has a lot more to do with his draft position than any actual output to date. The odd well-played game means very little; only a little over a month ago I saw Harry Morrison have a class game and beat up Collingwood. I don’t doubt his potential, but he hasn’t lived up to it to date (people were actually comparing him to Dustin Martin in his draft year; makes me wonder about Reid when he’s drawing the same hype and player comparison; just goes to show nothing is set in stone just because you show talent as a junior / draftee - thought Matt Rowell was going to be the next Judd in his first season / Elijah Hollands shows nothing compared to his juniors).
LOTS of words here but just clarifying you think if Rayner were somehow available to play for Melbourne this weekend he'd be struggling to sneak a spot? I'm assuming in this scenario Tom McDonald has access to a time-machine and Joel Smith has magically turned in to his dad in his prime, in which case maybe Cam would not.... yeah nah he'd still get a game.

I bet Lachie is enjoying his early September holidays too.

Danster had always been a passionate member of the online AFL forum. He went by the username "danster168" and was known for his relentless and unfair criticism of Cam Rayner. Day after day, he dissected Cam's every move on the field, relentlessly picking apart his skills and decisions.

Cam Rayner, a young and talented player for the Brisbane Lions, bore the brunt of Danster's unrelenting critique. No matter how well Cam performed, Danster would move the goalposts, setting ever-higher standards for him to meet. It seemed that nothing Cam did would ever be good enough for danster168.

The AFL season marched on, and Cam Rayner, determined to prove his worth, delivered extraordinary performances throughout the finals series. His crowning moment came in the grand final when he kicked eight goals for Brisbane, including a heart-stopping goal after the siren that sealed their victory. The stadium roared with jubilation, but there was silence in the realm of danster168.

In a moment of vulnerability, Danster finally admitted to himself and the forum members the true reason behind his relentless criticism. He confessed, "I've been so hard on Cam because... because I'm in love with him." The revelation shocked the online community, and some members responded with understanding, while others simply couldn't believe it.

The season ended with Cam Rayner's heroics etched into AFL history, but Danster's journey was far from over. He returned to the forum, but this time, he directed his unfairly critical gaze toward another young player, Will Ashcroft. It was particularly cruel, given that Will had recently suffered a major knee injury, which threatened to derail his promising career.

As danster168 posted scathing remarks about Will's recovery, some forum members questioned his motives and empathy. But danster168 seemed unfazed, continuing his relentless critique. It was as if he couldn't help himself, trapped in a cycle of criticism that only he understood.

In the world of online AFL forums, danster168's story became a cautionary tale about the fine line between passionate fandom and obsession. And as the new season approached, one couldn't help but wonder who would be the next unfortunate target of danster168's unjust scrutiny.

Danster if Cam wins the norm smith this year, despite the astronomical odds of that happening in your view of course, will you change your avatar to a picture of cam and/or leave this website forever?

Melbourne would kill for someone of Rayner's quality.

Their forward line is worse than most VFL sides.
