Carlton Posters & Mods!!!

Now I have been on BF for a long time, but just recently joined up..

The one thing that annoys me is that Carlscum supporters are allowed to come on our board & troll/name call without any penalty...

The recent one was in a Eddie thread when a Carlton supporter sledged our culture & Eddie..

Now normally this wouldn't bother me, but for two reasons it does:

1) I got banned totally from the Scum board by those pathetic mods for laughing at was there CHF options in Cloke/Krezeur. Now apart from me actually being right to laugh at that, I cant even see there board anymore, after that...

2) There supporters are allowed to come on here & get away with alot more..

Now some may say thats because we arent as sensitive as them & have more heart!

Well enough is enough...Mods Can you please start getting these scumbags out of here, as if it were there pathetic mods they would be all banned!

It's boring watching you guys competing for your special Olympics medals. As far as I'm concerned the threads concerning other clubs , particularly Carlton lately last too long on this board and should be locked immediately. Nothing is achieved , bar stupidity.

Every club board has it's own rules, including ours. Some Collingwood posters have made the observation that moderation on the Carlton board is more strict than it is here, and that may well be true. Put simply, you have to read the rules of each club board before posting to determine what is acceptable and what is not. I imagine the Carlton board gets trolled very often indeed, given their club is a cheating, tanking, cellar-dwelling basket case, therefore their mods need to run a tight ship, and to their credit that's exactly what they do.

If you think moderation is too strict on the Carlton board, I can assure you the answer is not simply to replicate that environment here on our own board. We tolerate a degree of good natured gamesmanship here, because we're all-around good folk, and just generally more awesome than most.

If something posted by a troll truly offends you, use the report post button and we'll address it on a case-by-case basis. In particularly heinous circumstances, such as the Shaw/Didak incident, we'll probably establish a zero-tolerance policy of our own toward such trolls. I may be misreading the Collingwood BigFooty populace here, but I don't feel that a state of martial law is conducive to an enjoyable forum. However, if you feel like trolling an opposition club's board, don't assume the same rules apply... they probably won't.

I couldnt careless what those morons write on here.. But my point is simply why should we have to put up with there supporters coming on here with there ridiculous statements..

If you are so against the way those "sensitive pricks" run their board, why do you want ours to be exactly the same?

If someone says something that offends you, use the Report Post function at the bottom-left corner of their post (it looks like this

I'm all for a good amount of to and/or fro, but I still feel like there's just not enough banning going on around these parts.

I propose the mods arbitrarily select a word every week, and keep it confidential. Then, they proceed to ban anyone who uses that word in their post.

Meanwhile, the other posters are scurrying about, trying to figure out what word they should be avoiding. Usually it would be fairly obvious 3-4 bans in, but on a good week we might get a half-dozen bans before someone catches on. The excitement would be palpable.

What do you say TRS?

Not that I condone the existence of the thread, but 4 infractions on the Carlton board in a month and a liking for firing off PMs to moderators, might just suggest we had a little more tolerance than first thought before deciding the contributions were never going to get better.

The story is never as it is portrayed.

Quite often the locals will have their post deleted and occasionally warned to report posts instead of taking it into their own hands.

Carlton supporters have no rights here and the reverse applies over there.

Yes. I'll keep the board and poster anonymous.

Of course there is .... on ALL team boards. Locals reign supreme. Someone much loved here would be despised on opposition boards. You are hardly going to weaken your own board because they offended an interloper.

I went to one team board in a mod capacity to invite them over for a banter thread. The response? **** off! I did nothing as it was up to their mods to deal with if they saw it.

I have the option to stay off team boards ... no skin off my nose really.

Strange as it may seem ODN has quite a good football brain, HBF is like TRS is here with the kids but it is also a grimy double crossing blue bastard who will post stuff in threads there he would never utter anywhere else as it may sully his good boy poster reputation (dont be fooled children)

Also Eddie betts is a champ (bar his poor taste in forward pockets) is a great poster who others fairly good views on this board
