Oh 2007/08 Boomer - mate to be honest I dont think he tackled much more back then - I'd be surprised if he averaged more than 2.5 tackles per game in those years, his contested possessions would not have exceeded 7 per game either - has similar stats now! What he received kudos/charlie votes for back then was his goal scoring feats i reckon.

Sadly cant find one of Trav front on shirtless - although any of the ones with him celebrating a goal would suffice

Correct. In 07 Boomer averaged 2.1 tackles a game, and in 08 he averaged 2.4 tackles a game. This year he has averaged 2.6 tackles a game. Boomer has always been a lazy front running player, and to compare him to Murphy is quite ridiculous.

Even with injuries, Swan still stacks up with Murphy.

Sorry, but I'd still pick Swan right now ahead of him.


The problem with the Brownlow and coaches awards etc.. is that Judd and Murphy stick out like a sore thumb in Carlton.

A better comparison would be if 2 teams had midfield's full of A-graders, and both teams 50/50 chance for premiership. In that situation, a player from either side leading the CA's or Brownlow would be more accurate as the best going around, as well as the MVP of course.
