That said after trading our first round pick you would think we really want to not be, well, exactly where we are.

I didn't mind the idea of trading the pick, as I liked the logic of fast-tracking the build by getting a required player a year earlier (provided we were confident there was a player we rated at that point). But that obviously suggested we thought we were ready to start climbing the ladder. That wasn't unreasonable, given that we showed some improvement in the second half of 2024, and having added three experienced players along with natural improvement of the talent we had.

But at this point after 7 rounds the picture looks different to what we were expecting surely. Now, anything can happen with more than 2/3 of the season still to come, but surely if asked a direct question, are we where we thought we'd be the club has to answer NO, we are not. And what follows from that would have to be some sort of review, provided we continue to tread water for the rest of the season. And that review has to have some consequences.

yep and the short break thing is only really relevant in the fourth quarter. if we're 10 goals down at three quarter time the short break is an irrelevant excuse anyway. if we're within 2 or 3 goals and get overrun it might be relevant.

Fantastic. We have the Seawise Giant and the Antonov An-225 Mriya in our forward line already. Now we're adding another big unit.

Can't wait to see how fast we are and how good we are at applying F50 pressure tomorrow night. It's going to be elite.
