Came here to post that Brad’s worst stretch was a 2-15 run over two seasons, which would only be equaled if we lost every game left this season.
It's what makes the 'they need to rebuild' comments so appalling.

They made the cuts in 16 and stopped.

They should have kept cutting. We'd be in a different situation.

Haven't seen many on board with your "Rhyce was a mistake" posts, which is saying something,
It does. It says I'm able to have my own views that don't necessarily conform with the herd mentality.
given how short sighted a lot people around here are. Even in seasons where you can train as a group more than once per week, where you don't lose months with a season suspension and where you don't have a ridiculous injury list, it usually takes time for a coach to have a team playing the way they want. Rhyce is a rookie. Many of our assistants coaches are new as well. You may be right in the long run but it's laughably early to be calling this.
I said last year when they rushed to appoint him that it probably wasn't the right decision. I stand by that. When I hear the bloke talk, he doesn't fill me with much confidence that he knows what he's doing. And it's got nothing to do with our injuries.

If you're accepting of the decisions being made by the power brokers at Arden Street, then that's on you.
Me, I have higher expectations of this once great club that hasn't seen success in over 20 years, currently has the unenviable record of the longest GF drought, and is about to endure another year without finals.

Yet you want Teague who was appointed by virtually the exact same process?

Ah the wonderful win in Round 23...we showed those Lions who the boss man was!

Did they ever recover from that belting?

That was the confidence building win to set us up for the next 3 years.....

Ahh yes I can see it now. We capitulate to a terrible Lions outfit in the last game of the year, destroying any remaining confidence the playing group had at the time, then with our hallowed number 1 pick we select..... Paddy Dow.

Nah with pick 1 we take Cunners long term replacement.

Some kid Luke Davies-Uniake.

Um no we don't have that honour, Carlton do and if you add in teams that have played in them and have not won you can throw in Adelaide, Freo, Melbourne, St Kilda and of course the Suns. So dont let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Clueless.

Carlton, like us, also have the longest GF drought. Neither team has played in one since 1999.
Every other team except the Suns has played in a GF since then.
Let that sink in.
That's how long we've suffered.
And now we're anchored in the bottom 2.

Teague had a lot more coaching experience, at several other clubs.
And he talks like a coach who actually knows what he's doing.
Teague has the benefit of a pretty fit list and he still could only just scrap a win against a depleted, out of form North Melbourne.

Not sure he is doing anything that special at the moment.

We pretty much were in experimental mode for most of the game, with a host of underdone players.

People need to chill and start making these assessments when both have been in the job long enough to shape their list and put into place their strategy.

Everyone these days is looking for instant gratification and has no patience.

He had his 2 best forwards out in Curnow and McKay, with Gov injured early on the bench, and still got them to kick a winning score.
Down back he's been without Marchbank and Newman.
He was also missing Kreuzer their first choice ruckman.
That's 6 best 22 players missing.

He's got them playing fast attacking football. It's exciting. Attractive to watch.
It sure beats whatever our game plan is at the moment.

We get our only early draft picks in forever, in a year where there's no junior comp.....just our luck. We'll probably pick the kid who was amazing in 2019, but spent all of the 2020 lockdown getting on the bongs.....
Kids in WA are playing WAFL seniors, which is probably better in the long run than beating up on the same kids for one more year.

Denver G-B gets to run out with our man, Matt Riggio.

Doesn't anchored mean stuck and not able to move anywhere? We win at the weekend and could move up 3 spots....

we need to strategically plan for next yr, winning is important yes but we need to win with the right players and not squeeze the oldies for a few meaningless matches. the youngsters are good, no doubt about it but it's the 26 - 29 the real problem, our job this year is to gut the useless 26 - 29 y.o players to an extent that those remaining will be forced to perform or they are out as we will not renew contract for the deadwood players.

I suggest you watch the replay.

The majority of Carlton’s score was from our ****ups, not any exciting fast attacking footy.

McGovern was actually better for them when he went off, because another player got to come on and replace the spud.

If he was the messiah you are claiming him to be, they wouldn’t have just scraped over the line against us, especially with all the errors we made on the weekend.

Beats our depleted team, experimental gameplan by barely more than a goal. Super exciting.
