I agree but you should not slam him like he is the worse offender agaist WB.

I didn't. Unfortunately in all grades of footy if some one comes along who is better you get the tap on the shoulder. Its not the end for Tabs ,Pav will be rested and Tabs needs to show he can do it at Peel.

But that's taking away Sandi's dominance in the ruck where we really need him! Keep Sandi in the middle!

He's not Goldstein, we ruck him solo long enough and we won't have him fresh for the finals. I don't mind a couple games early in the season when he's still in top condition but I just don't want to see it emerge as a trend. We're already a bloody short team (yeah our mids are tall but talking KPP's) so adding one more tall really shouldn't be that costly, reduced stoppages and rotations included. People will say "oh more talls means less run" but maybe the real issue lies more with some of the runners who aren't providing anything.

But yeah, it's just the one game so far so I don't want to harp on about it too much and I'm mostly pretty pleased with the side we've picked.

At this moment in time though Alex Pearce far from dominates at WAFL level.
Rarely ever gets beaten - just does his job. He did exactly the same in his handful of senior games last year playing on Gunston,Boyd, Lynch etc.
Taberner is developing. He needs on work on his defensive play - good mark but once the ball hits the ground he is useless.
I am sure Sumich moved him forward last weekend and he saw plenty of potential in AP as a forward. I've watched Taberner an AP for the last 3 years at WAFL level and senior level - I'm pretty sure I know who has more upside.

With the current trend of the game moving One of kpf and kpd must be able to ruck a bit.

I don't think Tabs will make it. He has all the tools but just doesn't seem to have any '"presence". The top key forwards seem to own the space around them. Tabs just seems to be there without really wanting to offend anybody.

Don't know if I put it right.

The kid needs more mongrel. Unfortunately that is something that one has either got or hasn't got.

Generally agree, with what you've written, but:
1. AP was heavily 'protected' in his appearances in defence last year by the old heads down there
2. Taberner is not a good mark.

Kenyan because you live nearby in Tassie with a.Pearce your judgement will always be a bit bias but I agree a.Pearce is a smarter footballer than tab.
Tasmanian living in Perth Meima. A Tasmanian who is a very good judge (not based on bias but on empirical evidence).

Tab just need to play in ruck more for peel , let hannath and Griff be kpf/ruck and kpd/ruck.

Remember in 2012/2013 when he used to punt them from 55-60m right through the middle poles? I haven't seen him even attempt that in years - just makes me think it's a lack of confidence in the role he's been given.

You talking about Clancee, and yeah, was thinking the same thing. Though he can look a bit awkward, he is (well, was at least) a really good kick of the ball. Long and accurate. He's tough in the body too. He just hasn't come back the same since that run of injuries over the last couple of years (shoulders was it?).

2012-2013, he was a solid player for us, very good 'B Grader' so to speak. He needs to get there again. I'm OK with him staying in. He wasn't great last week (no orphan there) but, from what I saw at least, he was 'in the game' which is more than we could say for some.

No he won't. Unless Pav is injured.

Even without injury I would be really surprised if Pav plays every game this year. If we are going ok and have an easier team (e.g. Essendon, Lions) then I could easily see Pav getting rested and tabs given another go assuming his WAFL form is ok.

you're spot on, there aren't many good KPF out there that don't have a bit of mongrel about them

I actually don't mind Tab playing Mayne position if Mayne can't convert with fyfe/ bennell sharing time replacing pav role.assuming tab scoring /tackle form with peel is good. Tab got to do more than a marking forward , even spending extra time with Hale after training doing 20 % ruck will be good. If he can ruck I see tab more useful than Sinclair if something happen to our ruck division

Don't necessarily agree with heavily protected - if you are referring to the 2 on 1 in defence this happens on a regular basis regardless of who plays in defence. You must understand he would be playing to specific instructions.

Just think, if Weller and Langdon can lock down their spot they could have played around 20-25 games by the time finals come. Alex Pearce will be around the 35 game mark.

Now the sub rule is gone that gives them plenty of time to settle into the team and build confidence. Hopefully Mora, Bennell and Yarran can join them soon too.

I wonder if the core players feel the same sense of joy at some new blood in the team. Not sure if joy is the right word but you get my meaning.

If the core is down, if this kids can lift compare to footsoldiers I think our core will be refresh.

I think the changes are good, perhaps bit harsh on Griffon when there was other bad performers.

Really feel that the bad talk about Freo has forced Ross to play youth, which is a good thing.

All I hope there isn't a late change MDB in, Weller/Langdon out.

Happy with the changes. A Pearce will offer more than Tabs so Mayne might offer more as a third tall

I find it strange RTB only playing the one ruck! When was the last time he did that?

One thing Ross is known for is late changes, im expecting Griff to come in, hopefully its CPearce.

Swapping Taberner and Griffin for A Pearce and M Johnson should improve our mobility and our skills.

Swapping Clarke with Sandi, will improve our clearances.

I think Langdon can match Mzungu around the ground except with better skills.
