What I would like to see.

Out : Davis, Macca, Zooma

IN : Bock, Talia, Symes

Bock to come in as CHF, Talia to cover the 3rd tall role that Philthy had been playing and Symes to cover Armstrongs spot in the back half allowing Armstrong to push up onto a wing. If Bock doesn't get up then Sellsy to cover his role.

I am a new member to big footy so I couldn't put this in a new topic so sorry for posting it here but I had to put it somewhere. (I also looked and couldn't see it anywhere else).

Did anyone catch Before the game on Saturday night? Just before they threw to a break Andrew Maher said "interesting developments in Adelaide as we know about the long running dispute between Tyson Edwards and Andrew Mcleod it was interesting to see that in Edwards last game Mcleod only had 9 touches"

If he had watched the game maybe he would have known Mcleod was injured and probably in the best half dozen players on the ground before he went off.

I just think this is disgraceful, to drop these subtle digs at the professionalism and integrity of Andrew Mcleod. I am not a crows supporter but Andrew Mcleod would opitomise the modern day footballer who loves his club and the game.

I actually did catch that, and Nathan Thompson also mentioned it on TFS. Pretty poor journalism IMO.

Standard Maher.

Marcellin and Father John would be disapointed!

TFS on Sunday was the same....a review of the game was given by someone who didn't watch the game....

Now I know it must be hard, but surely between the panel of 5 or so on each of these shows, they can manage all 8 games......

If so Mcleod should demand an apology with the threat of legal action.

Disgraceful attack on his character.:thumbsd:

At the moment, wouldn't Sellar be in front of Talia if Bock doesn't come up? I know everyone wants to see Talia, but I would think Sellar is ahead in the coaches eyes.

Sellsy hasn't played back this season. He plays ruck and forward for the Bays. Talia has settled down at CHB the last few weeks with South.

Dont know that Talia is settled at CHB as only playing average.
Just not ready yet to go AFL yet. Sellar not setting world on fire either but Craigy was playing him back there in NAB cup.
I think Jaensch can play good AFL and a lot to offer but believe he is goingto need to play 1 or 2 really big games to get back in team as Craigy will make it as hard as possible if not already ruled out.
Wrights form has to be making them thinking of a upgrade for him.
Henderson is worth another look at but probably needed to play a bit better on weekend than did to get a recall this week .

Well, they only actually need to manage 5 considering its the Sunday Footy show with 3 still to be played.

Extremely poor journalism though by Maher and I believe he should be issuing an apology for that. Besides, if it weren't Edwards last game, McLeod may not have even played. Poor form, but hardly unexpected.

Sellsy hasn't played back this season. He plays ruck and forward for the Bays. Talia has settled down at CHB the last few weeks with South.

He's played back for the Crows and spent much of the preseason training as such. Would not be surprised at all, if Bock doesn't come up, to see Sellar lining up on Franklin, with Stevens being used as a 3rd tall lending support to both Sellar and Rutten(on Roughead). I don't think we'd throw a first gamer up against Franklin or Roughead, at most Talia would be used as our third tall with Stevens on Franklin.

I'd like to see Sellar on Frankling though, has a bit of experience at the top level now, could be the kind of challenge that is the making of him. Similar to how Bock's first real game as a CHB at AFL level was against Riewoldt and it was subsequently his real "breakout" game as well. I think Sellar could give it a fare showing, has the height/body strength to go with Franklin and is quicker than most on here give him credit for.

For mine, at this stage I'd suggest:

Out: Edwards (retire), McLeod (knee), Davis (Shoulder/Concussion)
In: Bock/Sellar, Symes, Cook

We CAN elevate Wright for R12, as this is when the freebie rule kicks in - we're allowed to elevate one rookie from R12 onwards without the need for them to replace an LTI listed player.

However, doing so would mean dropping one of Jaensch, Schmidt & Henderson back to the rookie list in R14, when Martin comes OFF the LTI list. Anyone care to place a bet on which player is preferred - Jaensch or Wright?

Jaensch would be the one to go for sure, he's staring down the barrel of a shotgun.

Heres my 2 cents -

Out - McLeod (inj), Edwards (ret), Davis (inj)

In - Symes, Gunston, Bock

If Bock doesnt pull up, Stevens to Franklin and Gunston up forward. Possibly Schmidt/Wright to come in.

-As much as I love Jimmy Sellar, putting him on Buddy F would be suicide.

Would like Gunston to play the half forward roll Edwards played last week.

Oh off topic, but Bateman got a week I hear? From memory he has been a pain in the crows behind last few years.

Symes to Franklin. Has the hight and decent strength and goes alright in the air. All he has to do is compete and we all know that Symes will give 110%.

Just think about it for a moment and its not a stupid as you would think.

I like it, one for one replacement for this bloke:

Sounds awfully like the Massie logic

will put money on these changes guaranteed...

SYMES IN 100%
HENDERSON IN 100%

Bock if fit...

that's not an ideal matchup, unless you're Alastair Clarkson.

Won't be long before they start billing these clashes on TV as Buddy vs Tex.

Looking forward to the second installment this weekend.

OUT: McLeod (INJ), Davis (INJ), Edwards (ret)
IN: Symes, Bock, NO IDEA

if Bock is unfit (Sellar or Talia will come in - will be interesting to see how the club rate Talia's improvement and form in the SANFL). No idea who will come in for Macca...the club may go with Schmidt or Cook (two guys recently dropped who can play midfield), or Gunston (showed some good things in his debut) or Hendo (has shown better form than Gunston in the last round of SANFL).

Pilchard_Adams;18013004 Oh off topic said:
Yes, Bateman is out.

Quote:
Chance Bateman, Hawthorn, has been charged with a Level One misconduct offence in that he kneed Daniel Stewart, Port Adelaide, during the third quarter of the Round 11 match between Hawthorn and Port Adelaide, played at the MCG on Sunday June 6, 2010.

In summary, his previous poor record means that his one-match sanction must remain at one match, even with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has an existing poor record of four matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 40 per cent to 175 demerit points. He also has 19.69 points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 194.69 points and a one-match sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 146.02 points and a one-match sanction.

Surely this means he will appeal, yes? As I understand it, his options are to plead guilty, take the one match and 46.02 points carry over, or to appeal. If found guilty, he misses the match and carries 94.69 points over. If cleared, he plays. So in appealing, he is risking 50 odd carry points against a game next week.

From comments Craigy made last night Henderson will be player in for Edwards hopefully to play up fwd and Petrenko plays down back . Can only hope .
Symes and Bock ( hopefully ) back in to cover Macca and Davis .
If Bock not ok will probably be Sellar but nobody really banging on the door demanding to get in team.
McKernan missed last wekends game after a couple of average games at best and no game this week so has some work to do .
Talia doing ok but needs to just get the ball more in SANFL to show ready .

why Sellar and not Talia

My understanding is that Sellar has not played in defence all year, whereas Talia has been playing CHB and his last two weeks have been very good playing this role

Is there any news on Bock as there seems to be conflicting reports on his fitness
