Completely different player, Hendo has next to no defensive, shut down type game and certainly is not a contested type player. Laird is a shut down small defender cum midfielder, with clean disposal who is rarely beaten in a one on one contest.

Henderson plays the role of Smith, Mackay and Jaensch, running quarterback/winger. Now whilst he probably wont be knocking either of those two out the side anytime soon, he may allow Smith to play further up the ground, or may even himself hold down a wing. The guys who will have to be looking out are the fringe midfielder types eg Martin, Wright and Lyons. Henderson when up and about is an extremely damaging player, he has extremely good disposal, is super quick and super fit and can dob a long goal on the run.

Certainly not an automatic selection, although when up and about he's definite best 22. I suspect he'll need a good 3-4 games before he really starts to hit his straps though, very much a confidence type player who could be set back by being brought into the side too early.

Are you perhaps forgetting we already tried to make that deal end of last year, and the end result was him getting a 6th year on our list?

He has zero trade value, already demonstrated. The only way he is still in the AFL system next season is to a Victorian team via the rookie draft.

Reckon you're a bit harsh at times, but can't argue with this. Even IF sauce misses and he plays a very good game he won't dislodge jj or pods, so will be back in the 2's poste haste. It's hard to see him getting enough games to up his value from a rookie pick. And he's got to play well in the games he does get. I think he's capable, but it's certainly getting less and less likely.

Not sure on Tex yet. But Jacobs is fine.

I'm pretty sure Sando will try to get Henderson back in the side as soon as he can.

Quite frankly, if you ask any full back whether they'd prefer to be competing in the opponents F50, or up on the wing and they'll say wing every time, as no forward can kick a goal from 70+ metres out.

I would have Hendo in for Martin. It is more of a like for like, plus I rate Laird ahead of Martin.

I think Laird should eventually be groomed to become a mid. Has great balance is close to ground and has good vision. Think in time will make a great mid
