Out Treloar
In Mclarty
I’m sure DeGoey could go in the middle which would allow McLarty to play forward.

Short answer is no. Doesn’t have anywhere near the same skills as DeGoey. Sier is more like your old fashioned mid. A bit slow just tries hard.Apologies for the stupid question, but I don't follow the VFL as closely as others here. Sier to me looks to be a big-bodied mid in the same vein as De Goey rather than the run and dash mid of Treloar's style. Is this an accurate representation?
Does Sier have an ability to rotate into the forward line like De Goey does or is he a pure mid?

Why drop Appleby and not Greenwood?IN: Sier - Murray
OUT: Treloar - Appleby
B: Langdon - Dunn - Howe
HB: Crisp - Scharenberg - Murray
C: Maynard - Pendlebury - Phillips
HF: Daicos - Mihocek - Sidebottom
F: Stephenson - Cox - WHE
R: Grundy - DeGoey - Adams
INT: Sier - Mayne - Greenwood - Thomas
Would be happy if Murray moved up onto a wing to inject pace through the middle.
DeGoey has to play 80% midfield time, we will be too one paced with Pendles/Adams/Sier/Sidebottom through the guts, but this is the perfect game to blood the bear against a young GC team.
If we can get through the next 2 games unscathed and start hopefully filtering Elliott/Reid/Varcoe/Moore back over the next month i think we can mitigate the Treloar loss.
Well seeing a specialist isn't a good sign. Obviously the scans have showed something.
Won't be seeing a specialist for cramp.
Just have to hope like hell that it's only around a month I guess.
In: Sier, Brown, Murray
Out: Treloar (inj), Greenwood (inj/omit), Appleby
The beauty of Treloar is his inside ball winning combined with his speed and linebreaking ability, and clearly there's no one player that can bring those attributes to the team. Sier and Wills are slow and I don't know if bringing both in would be a great idea. I think Sier looks like the one who is closer to debut so I'd love to see him come in this week.
Greenwood before getting concussed was poor. I don't really see a role for him. Brown wouldn't offer less than Greenwood at any rate IMO so I'd rather him get the senior experience in a defensive HF role, rotating through the midfield.
To address the outside run I'd like to see us bring Murray back off the back flank, at the expense of Appleby who is a touch unlucky but will be back. I hear that Murray hasn't been the best at VFL level, but think we just need to back him in.

In terms of Treloar I'm inclined not to believe the "he got bad cramp" story. So would not be surprised to see him out for a period and another victim of our soft tissue injuries.
It would be pretty unusual to tear both hamstrings simultaneously. And pretty hard to lie about. Buckleys body language was one of pure relief.
Its not unusual for the club to stretch the truth on injuries. Anyone who saw Treloars reaction could see it was more than "cramp".
