Changes for Showdown

OUT: Clurey. I really disliked his game last night. Out of depth in the AFL.
In: Carlile if fit, otherwise Krak.

I must have been watching a different game to you last night

I must have been watching a different game to you last night
I saw I few clangers and a few lost contests. Zero tackles. What did you see?

EDIT: when you say "watching", do you mean on TV? Because that would explain a lot.

Kens selections were spot on...Dont want to be too harsh but I don't think Krak or Hoon would have had the physicality or defensive action to perform last nite...It really is a game now that if you don't put on defensive pressure the oppo will cut you up big time

All played well, including Karlos who will learn a lot from this game

I think if it is dry then the change will be

Amon out

Krak in

I was at the game.

He was very good apart from one contest where the ball got over the back which resulted in a Collingwood goal.

Are you able to point out some of his clangers?

OK, so we were definitely looking at his game from different perspectives. It happens. One of my mates loves Jasper Pittard and only sees when he does something good, while another sees all the negatives. I can't point out particular passages of play w/o watching the replay. But I accept that I might have gotten it wrong. Nevertheless, his numbers are far from spectacular so we are discussing whether he had a bad game or a not-so-bad game. Hardly the stuff of legends.

Im gonna be harsh I think... yes we won... but...

Out: Broadbent, Monfries, Schulz, O'Shea

In: Krak, Harvey/Shaw, Carlisle, Sammy C.

Reasons: Broady has been playing rabbit football the last few weeks, constant turnover then lets try and make up for me giving up a goal... enough is enough, have a spell. Monfries, sorry mate, but the under 18 would dominate you atm, the drug crap has to playing on his mind so give him a spell and try and work shit out. Schulz, has played shit all year, maybe injured, maybe not, but hey lets see what our future holds. O'Shea... Bobby is better sorry, and Clurey is the future... sorry.

Kark... why was he dropped? one of the best and consistent all season imo!, Harvey/Shaw... lets see what they have. Carlisle... Welcome back Bobby, Sammy C... if he is the replacement of Kornes... give him for than 2 games, seriously like what the F!

Broadbent!? O'Shea!!? What on last night's form?! Both helped win us the game in the end!

minimal change for me - O'Shea/Clurey out for Bobby depending on matchup.

Neade will survive, only just. Thought he was relatively ineffective last night.

would like to see Ah Chee start with Amon as sub.

Not a bad game for Bobby to miss TBH, the Crows don't really have a match-up for him barring the unlikely event that Pods gets recalled. Walker, Jenkins and Lynch are all significantly quicker than him. .

Bobby is the perfect matchup for Walker. Walker isn't quick and has the same turning arc as the titanic.

A matchup made in heaven!

Nah, Neade brought back the pressure that no Polec or White has lost. He doesn't necessarily get the tackle himself but he certainly panics the opponent.

Unchanged.
"Like for like" if Lobbe is injured - that means Harvey as his potential replacement.

Out:
Amon
Pittard - thought he was very poor. Turned over the ball many times with his kicks, got beaten in many contests, fumbled, offered no run. Has been poor for a few weeks now.

In:
Mitchell (SUB) - Showdowns are extremely tiring games. Mitchell's run could be crucial at the end.
Krakouer

Ah Chee to start the game

Lucky:
Ebert - His disposal has been terrible over the past month or two, that left foot kick in the first quarter straight to a Collingwood player with two port players about 20m away open either side of him sums it up. Stays because he generally plays very well in showdowns, and because there's not a whole lot else to pick from.

Lobbe - Was clearly injured early and struggled through the game. Not in the best of form regardless, but will need him against Jacobs. Ryder has had a limited season so i'd question his conditioning to go up against one of the best ruckman in the game.

Those calling for Clurey - wtf? He was great. Few shaky moments, but considering the conditions and the way the game was played, and that he's played about 5 games - what do you expect?! He can stay unless Carlile is fit, which it doesn't look like he will be.

Something different about tonight. That mark coming out of defence, the sheer balls to even choose to mark instead of punch, arguably won us the game. On such an emotional night I feel an action like that will stick in Ken's mind for good.

I went ballistic when that happened. You can't ****ing teach that.

There were two times I recall Clurey being beaten. Once in the goal square against white that cost us a goal, he lost his footing. That was probably lack of experience, and the fact he wasn't goal side when locking into the wrestle with White.

Second was in the pocket, where he was engaged in a wrestle (won the wrestle) and got in front of his man, but he misread the ball and it fell to the advantage of his opponent.

They were all things that are rectified by playing more games.

Oh and - his kicking! The boy can hit a target!

No way Clurey goes out. Give Bobby another week of rest. Ah Chee a full game whilst Amon can have a spell as a sub.

clurey is a boy that just needs to play. the rest of year if possible. ken reckons lobbes will come up. amon to sub arch starts in the middle. 5 tackles in his limited time on the park blows me away. if anyone is going to come out it may be stew, but i think even he'd be hard done by losing his spot atm.
