Looks like it will be a great match. Hopefully we can get up for Bunji's 300th and cement our spot in the top 8.

I'm expecting Johncock to come in for Porplyzia (poor bugger). Walker or Dangerfield would be good options, but I'd expect Stiffy to come in due to his experience. Should he come in, I'd like to see him in the forward 50 - after all he did win our goalkicking a few years back.

Reilly should be an automatic inclusion for Knights.

Otherwise I see no need for any further changes.

What does everyone else think?

With Richmond's tall forwards we may need Moran down back for a lot of the game to help cover them. If this is the case Tippett may come back in.

Final decision on this may come down to the weather.

Out: Porplyzia, Knights
In: Johncock, Otten

I'm not for bringing Reilly straight back in just because of how long it's been since he's played a decent game of football, practically since round 1, if anyone needs match practice at the moment it's Brent Reilly.

Meanwhile Otten has been excruciatingly consistant in the SANFL and deserves a second shot with around 50% game time:thumbsu: It's also worth noting that Otten's less talked about gift of having quite sticky hands could be worth a goal or two up forward and is probably the closest replacement to Propz we have in that aspect.

However, if it is decided that Johncock is not ready I would look at bringing in Reilly as well as Otten as purely an experience thing.

I tend to agree with you regarding Reilly, he hasn't played a lot of footy this year and when he was brought back a month or so ago he wasn't up to his preseason standard by any means, I think it'd be a good idea for him to get a game with Sturt, just to get a little match practice and fitness back.

My ins at this stage probably depend on the weather, if its pretty dry and going to be perfect conditions I'd bring back Tippet in place for Porps, to replace his marking power. If its a little wet however I'd be all for giving Otten a decent go, probably deserves it and is a ball magnet like Knights as well as having sticky hands similar to Porps. Johncock would have to be a shoe in at this stage.

Out: Knights, Porplyzia
In: Johncock, Otten/Tippet

Walker as a smokey and Jericho's a possibility because he had a shocker on the weekend:D

Ottens was talked up on the AFC site, maybe he has re-earned his strips finally ?
They always talk up their kids during the week.

Never end up selecting them mind you, but they hope it will create the perception that our young players are 'on the brink' of making the grade.

Emergencies: Otten, Walker, Petrenko

JR on 5AA Friday: "All three were very close to getting a game this week." BS. McGregor and Jericho are next in line.

What should happen:

In: Johncock, Otten, Reilly
Out: Poplyzia, Knights, Goodwin (all injured)

It is a joke we are playing an injured Goodwin, who is only a decoy, can't bend over or kick with any penetration - hasn't played a decent game for a long time. Would prefer to give him a rest & play either a fit Otten or underdone Reilly.

B: McLeod,Rutten, Bassett
HB: Massie, Bock, Doughty
C: Vince, Thompson, Mackay
HF: Stevens, Gill, Edwards
F: Johncock, Moran, Douglas
R: Maric, Shirley, van Berlo
I: Reilly, Otten, Symes, Campbell

SPOT ON! I have a feeling we will see Moran playing Full Forward, and Johncock will attempt to take over where Porplyzia left off. That's my best bet.

Knights and Proplyzia are obvious exclusions due to injury

I would bring in Johncock as a small forward and Otten as a midfielder / Wingman

If Goodwin is doubtful I would consider Radar, ideally I would like to give Goody a rest prior to finals, the question, is this week the week

On Tippett, he was dropped due to poor form, with Westies having the bye, I can't see how he would of regained form and confidence

Agree, but with Macca's 300th you'd expect him to play this weekend, we gifted Hart a game for Roo's 300th. After this weekend I'd like to see us rest him for a week or 2, see if we can't get him up and firing for the finals(assuming we make it), because my word we'll need him.

Has Goodwin been that awful? He was struggling on Saturday, but he'd scored 5 goals against Sydney and Port, and he wasn't our worst against Collingwood.

If he can't move better than he did on Saturday by next week, I'd give him some time off, and your ins look OK if Radar is truly fit.

Apart from the the 1st month of the season, IMO Goodwin has been a shadow of his former self as playing injured. Sure he had some useful moments, but not the matchwinning consistent footballer he usually is. Rest him & get him right for finals asault.

Must be tough for Goodwin at the moment. I wonder if he wasn't captain whether he would have had some games off?

At the moment he is still commanding a quality minder so I'd keep him playing.

If JR is true to his word, Andy Otten must come in for Chris Knights. If he was that close last week and played another good game, this week he must come in. Unless JR is just telling porky pies.

In – Jericho*, Reilly
Out – Poprlyzia (head), Knights (Hamstring)

I don’t agree with it but can see it happening.

This week Johncock must come back in and I think he would actually be handy as a midfield rotation option. Otten should also get a recall, playing either HF Flank or midfield, the guy can find the ball.

Goodwin, he is definitely injured and has been struggling. I think a rest would do him good. Tippett should remain in the SANFL for some form. Either McGregor or Jericho could be replacements for Goodwin, probably Jericho the better option. Yep this may cause a stir

This is exactly what I hope happens, but Goodwin probably won't go out so one of Reilly/Otten will miss.

In Johncock Otten
out Knights Porps

Goodwin and Johncock must play in McLeod's 300th if this culb has any heart at all and I know it does.

In any case we need Stiffy to mark Nathan Brown.
