His footwork against a swinging/ seaming ball is disgusting. He takes 1/2 steps forward and is continually falling over himself.

He has a good record at 5 because he was able to be shielded behind the likes of Hayden, Ponting & Langer who would not only see off the new ball, but pummel the bowlers into submission such that easy runs were there to take.

His dodgy technique is now being exposed by a mis-firing top order.

All the different future teams thrown up here are great, BUT what about Tim Nielsen?

They talk about Ponting inheriting one of the greatest sides in history, but so did Nielsen. His inability to successfully and seamlessly build a new team to take us into the future on the back of Warne, McGrath, Gilly, and Hados and to a lesser extent Martin and Langer departing has to be bought in to question.

I was totally stunned to hear he has just been offered, and signed a new two year extension on his contract. Its just not cricket.

He hasn't just signed it. It was sorted out in September or October. Apparently the players cheered when they found out...... the fans wept, but the players cheered.

After reading most of the dribble not just on here but in the papers you'd assume his career has been hung, drawn and quartered anyway according to most self-appointed cricket scribes........

I still can't see why there is no love for Lynn.

He averages 45 for Qld and 55 this year with two centuries and two fifties.

He has a better 1st class record than Ferguson, Cosgrove, White, Finch, Marsh and D Hussey all of whom have been talked up.

He and Khuwaja are our middle order batsman of the future and they should be played NOW.

Promote M Hussey to open and play the two kids at 3 and 4. Drop Clarke & Ponting to 5 and 6 respectively.
