Not just one man behind the ball, straight after the centre bounce everyone goes defensive. Clog up the corridor, our half forwards occupy their half forward line and make it a scrap. Contested 2005-06 dour shit.

If we lose 50 to 35 I’ll take it.

Hi all, good luck for the Centenary match -both our clubs surviving to 100 years is basically a miracle all things considered. Hoping that a fair crew of Doggies supporters get out there and it’s a decent crowd for the occasion. We had our centenary against the Pies at the G on a Friday night earlier this year, didn’t win but awesome night with all club legends and 90k+ there.

The free-to-air exposure and I guess all NM fans around the country can watch it vs those just who have Fox.
That should've all been figured out when the fixture was done by the club, AFL and CH7 earlier.
Should've been a Friday night or Sunday arvo CH7 game. Poor organisation and planning all round.
It is what is. Wouldn't surprise me if the AFL and CH7 didn't want to pay Fox and wanted the footage for their archives.

Thursday night attendances are terrible across the board. Its a brain dead decision.

After hearing how the tribunal lapped up Carlton's pre-emptive tackle when Harry McKay took out Sheez a couple of seasons back I rate the tribunal as nothing more than a kangaroo court. The MRO has always been a pissant. The AFL rates below the majority supermarkets and telcos for trustworthiness and integrity in my opinion.

Totally agree – scheduling it on a Thursday night is ridiculous.

It basically rules out all families with younger kids. Try getting into the city at that time of night through the week – it’s a nightmare.

I’ll be there, but it’s a real shame for the families who fork out good money for memberships and can’t attend with their kids.

It’s not like we’ve got 100,000 members to draw from! Sometimes you really have to wonder about the ‘brains trust’ at our club…

The leaders at our club have completely botched the whole thing.

I'll be going for the centenary, I haven't been able to make it to any game for a while either which has been bugging me. Not thrilled about the Thursday slot or the likely thrashing and am convinced a better solution could have been reached for the special occasion.

Absolutely, they are Alberto Tomba's of the highest order. In fact the only time this hasn't been the case is 2016.

That hawks game was a true disaster for the club. Got smacked, injuries everywhere, and nmfc members not wanting to show up for our centenary game. Pure disaster.
