Richmond's biggest problem is that they won't be able to tag all of Sloane, and the Crouch brothers, and Eddie, and Laird, and CC, and Mackay, and Ratkins ... ;)
Also, our bottom 5-6 players are much better than theirs.

Our bottom 21 are better than theirs.

Supremely confident we will get the job done this week, and i'm the biggest pessimist out.

This is the problem with the idea that is pushed by a lot of past players / commentators ...

The solutions they push result in about 7 tags. Even in the game last Friday - by the second quarter they were all changing their pre-game genius ideas around.

I would have started Dangerfield as the full forward.
I would have started Dangerfield in the centre.
I would have tagged Matt Crouch with Selwood.
I would have tagged Brad Crouch with Selwood.
I would have tagged Sloane with Selwood.
I would have used Blicavs on Sloane.
I would have used Blicavs on Lynch.
I would have tagged Laird in the back half.
I would have tagged Lever in the back half.

etc...

If Richmond fall into the trap of trying to contain us ... they will get walloped. They need to attack us to have a chance to win, and that's what I expect them to do.

We'll go in unchanged.

Don Pyke all but admitted Gov won't be right to play, and he's not going to make any unforced changes.

When did he do that exactly?

In his press conference after the game said he was already doing a lot of strong running late last week but just didn't get there and they didn't want to take the risk.

I think he will be a huge chance for this week.

bloody funny, thanks for the good laugh :thumbsu: :D :D
I'm quietly confident as well ---- in fact I won't be surprised if the Crows wear them down into beaten submission and run away with it, 50+ points. (what follows is from a PM I sent, but it's relevant here)
The 2017-Crows are formidable and don't have a weak link, with Mackay lifting and CC playing his best game. Their team trust/understanding and team-first attitude exceeds the teams of 97/98, both of which I followed intensely. Blight had them taking risks and enjoying the fun of what they were doing. Pyke has moulded this group into a terrific, hardened team that will be Flag contenders for another 2-3 years. Like Brisbane 2001-3 and the Hawks 2013-15.
Week by week, Richmond's goals have changed:
--- make the finals
--- make the Top 4
--- win a final (jubilation!!)
--- win a PF, get into the GF (more jubilation!!!).
By contrast, Pyke's Crows have had one goal which is the goal of a champion team:
--- get to the GF first, game by game, week by week, then win it. <== Pyke's mantra.
Minor Round and QF/PF wins are a means to an end. By themselves, we've won nothing yet, well, except the silverware for finishing Top.
Pyke believes that they have created an opportunity that only two teams get at this time of year, to be the team to win the Premiership.

We'll find out soon enough if they seize that opportunity and turn it into our third Flag.

I would honestly bring Milera in for Otten if Gov doesn't come up. It would be the roughest call on Andy, but Richmond have an absolute mosquito fleet and I feel the extra pace and precision skills that Milera offers would be of more use than what Otten provides.

Fully expect it to be Gov for Otten or unchanged though. My money's on unchanged.

Or do we go for Hampton? Bigger body, quick, good tackler, bit of "x" factor ...

I'd keep Otten in.
He has footy smarts and there's every chance he will do a Shane Ellen.

Can also make Rance accountable as I'm going to assume Ashtbury goes to Jerka and Grimey goes to Tex.

Knight to Cotchin
Run Sloane H2H with Martin

Happy days

I know where you are going. They can stop some of our players not all of them. Otten is easily nullified with their best defender ie Rance. But obviously he wont be getting that, he will be much much lower down the pecking order and this is where he can and hopefully does excel.

Greenwood struggling with a calf according to 5aa (and has been for a little while)
Not liking the sound of this. Was very quiet as a result of the injury last Friday. I love Greenwood but we simply can't carry injured players in a final.

I actually doubt its a calf, as there's no way you'd play with a calf strain. It would be more like Achilles tendonitis or posterior/anterior tibial tendonitis as you can still play on those injuries.
