Do you think D Mac will be selected in the 22 this week?

How did Rory go at centre bounce today? do you keep in ROK who tied it in pretty well with tackle pressure and let Rory go mid forward? I get a feel Rory is not quite 100 % for centre bounce.
Rory was not good at all. Would try Rory at half forward.

I saw some better connections toady without the two pressure forwards in Murphy and McHenry.
The way it was shuffled through necessity created better avenues. I’m not down with the McHenry Murphy duo at all.

Well that would be a start. He’s a warrior and has bled and taken some massive hits. If he’s at stoppages forward of centre so another like Shoenberg goes more mid then I wouldn’t complain

I don’t give a rats arse about draft picks this week. Dees are due for a loss and I want the Crows to provide that. Pick the best 22 and go out to genuinely win this one. Great confidence builder and essential for the rebuild process. We can do it. (We are actually a decent team give the young calves out there)

Nicks confirmed in the post match presser Tex is in next week and so is McHenry if he passed concussion protocols.

I still can't work out why we're throwing Frampton/Himmelberg in when they only take 1-2 centre bounce ruck contests and Tex rucks while it's up forward. Neither are providing any "marking power" they're both fool's gold this year and we should give a bigger workload at Thilthorpe and Fogarty with Frampton/Himmelberg out.

Well we only pick 7 defenders in the 22 not 8.

If we are serious about building our backline for the future, we need to start picking the players we think are part of that future.
Hamill on the wing. Scholl other wing.

MacPherson when Brown retires? Hard call, based on what MacPherson has done this year.

Jones only one game into his new role.

Maybe Milera for Smithers?

I know Kelly cops a lot here for his lack of offensive skill. But he really is a great stopper. Maybe Worrell could push him out.

And Butts, almost a pure stopper now, does have some scope for being more offensive.

For me our two KPDs are Butts and McAsey.

Out: Mackay, Frampton, Hamill (rested)
In: McHenry, Tex, McAsey

Rowe, Fog, McAdam
Schoenberg, Tex, Thilthorpe
Seedsman, Sloane, Sholl
Smith, McAsey, Jones
Doedee, Butts, Brown
ROB, Laird, Keays
Berry, Kelly, ROC, McHenry

That is what I like to see, sadly I expect I'll be very disappointed.

My prediction...

Out - Frampton, McPherson (sub)
In - Tex, McHenry

B. Brown, Butts, Kelly
HB. Smith, Doedee, Hamill
C. Sholl, Keays, Seedsman
HF. Rowe, Walker, Schoenberg
F. McAdam, Thilthorpe, Fogarty
R. O'Brien, Sloane, Laird
I. Jones, O'Connor, McHenry, Berry
Sub. Mackay

Butts gets more involved in the out ball more. He’s been a bonus.
Scholl playing defensive wing than the other wing. Needs to flip. Want his feet on the forward fifty entry than out of defence.

I can't see Brown on Fristsch.

Brown better suited, as best we have, on Pickett.

We need another KPD, McKay is not needed.

Jones, Hamill and Smithers our HBs.

Exactly. Jones has replaced Mackay on the HBF, piss DMac off and get a tall in

Agree. One of them is ok but not both. Prefer Berry or Sloane resting up there, also Harry, as long as the height vs speed balance is ok

I thought Berry had more strength and overhead abilities playing a similar role to McHenry. Hope that doesn’t change.
Totally agree. Berry or Sloane can play that role much better than McHenry. I thought our team looked the best it has all year today (except for Frampton and Mackay). Take those two out for Worrell and one of either Walker (if fit) or Himmelberg (who isn't the long term answer) and we will win some games. You could also bring in Worrell for Kelly and Murray for Mackay to fix our height issues down back.

Nick's thinks he is going to 'pressure' his way to wins and it ain't gonna happen. You still need to score. Nick's area of development as a coach is to realise the game doesn't completely revolve around defensive aspects and must focus more on scoring. Blight pointed this out about Nick's 12 months ago btw.

The other aspect that he needs to teach our players (even the experienced ones) is for them to stop giving the panic handball to an under pressure teammate which generally results in a hack kick forward and a turnover. Players need to take more ownership and take the game on with assistance from our surrounding players being used to shepherd. This puts more stress on the opposition team. I think they have been taught to overuse the handball to a team mate in training but it breaks down in-match due to increased pressure. They need to "Value the Sherrin" better.

I thought Frampton presented ok yesterday. Went missing and still sucks at set shots but he he crashes packs which none of our other forwards do. Not sure how we fit tex back in though, would be good to stretch dees backline. Lever will end up playing on fog/ thilthorpe 🤔

Exactly what did Kelly do wrong today, quelled Darling's infuence when shifted onto him, went at 92.3%DE, 7 Intercepts and our best defender along with Chayce Jones on the night I thought.
I’m only saying Kelly because we can’t lose Butts or Doedee...but we desperately need that second tall. I actually think Kelly has played well this year.
