Do you think D Mac will be selected in the 22 this week?

In the presser, Nicks confirmed Tex would be back this week, and said it would be nice to get McHenry back if he passes through the concussion protocol
A rested Tex to replace Frampton in the forward line gives us more options.

McHenry replacing Mackay will up our pressure.

2 good ins... then just need to add a 2nd tall defender.

??? Don't understand how rotating a KPD onto the field for a lockdown defender is not adding a second KPD at all?

If you rotate Kelly/Brown onto the bench for, say, McAsey, then we most likely have two KPDs playing KPD roles (i.e. tall lockdown/intercept roles) against Brown/McDonald, as well as an interceptor, a lockdown player and two rebounders? That sounds pretty balanced and role-specific to me

In the specific instance you are able to orchestrate that, yes.

Most of the time it won't be like that though, and if you specifically wanted that structure then why even bother having Kelly/Brown in the side if you need him on the bench for it to work?

Keep in mind that guys like Kelly and Doedee are playing 95%+ TOG at the moment, and defenders in general tend to be high TOG players

Frampton for Walker (Right now, I dont want to see either Frampton or Himmelberg near the team)
Mackay for McAsey (Need more height down back. Lets see how McAsey's tracking - And Mackay is the most dispensible defender atm)
O'Connor for McHenry (I want to bring in McHenry asap and despite not doing much wrong, I still think O'Connor is the last man in, so should be the first man out)
How did Rory go at centre bounce today? do you keep in ROK who tied it in pretty well with tackle pressure and let Rory go mid forward? I get a feel Rory is not quite 100 % for centre bounce.

If we didn't play 2 KPDs today, then we won't against Weideman, Brown and McDonald.... Though Brown hasnt offered anything. We all know we should though.

Would want ROC to get another gig, but it's a question of whether Ned is ready to go. Maybe 1 or the other goes to sub. Debutant showed enough.

If Tex comes in it has to be for Billy..... But then we come to ROB in the ruck who has been woeful. I do not want RT in the CB just yet, he causes so many good things to happen elsewhere but we can't carry Billy and Tex. The forwardline functioned very well IMO.

And then Mackay drops out, especially now we've seen something from Jones today.

And IF we do decide to rest ROB, or drop him.... Then Frampton has to ruck against Gawn

Yuck

There won't be a second KPD then.

It will be

Tex McHenry in

Ronin Frampton out

Better players in a horrendous season

It's not that he was one of our better players, its more to do with that we accepted his 16-18 touches as a massive improvement

Nicks has brought in a new b&f voting system that values playing a role to an elite level. Mackay was ordinary last year but polled well courtesy of the new system. The old system required impact to score big votes, the new system doesn't, it aligns impact with role playing as if it's a given.

Which position was Mackay playing? He was hardly ever forward of centre. Either by design or how the game panned.
The other thing would be his disposal efficiency in traffic. I dont like it but it probably trumps possible inclusions. Scary.

Was on a wing today.

New system? As long as it’s off field.

Frampton and MacKay out seems like the obvious ones. Tex to come back and replace Frampton, then a 2nd KPD back in to replace Dmac, not fussed if either Worrell or Mcasey.

If Ned is fit then we should try to get him back in too, ROC would be the easy choice but I'd like him to get at least a block of 3 games before he comes back out. Maybe Ned comes in as the sub.

Tex has been carrying a calf injury?..i would not be bringing him back this week. Id rather see thilthorpe fogarty and mcadam as the 3 main forwards again.

I'd bring in mchenry if he passes his test and mcasey or worrell and out would be frampton and mckay
