Tilthorpe to chop out.
Yeah, are we seeing anything from ROB at the moment that would be better?
i think he will come good, but he looks injured and tired. Rest him.
Our midfield is already under the pump against the better sides - at least ROB is going to be able to offer some sort of competition to Gawn just doing what he wants. If Himmelberg was the main ruck, I have visions of Gawn putting the ball down the throat of Petracca and company all day long and them sending an avalanche of ball forward...no thanks

Just noticed that Ken McGregor took that last ruck contest (and got thrashed)

Everyone highlighted the pathetic effort of Bickley to leave Leoncelli 15m clear at the stoppage but what was the Doc doing?

Geez, our stoppage issues even pre-date Campo.

This is the side I'd like to see us put out at some stage this season:

B: Brown, Butts, Doedee
HB: Jones, Murray, Smith
C: Sholl, Schoenberg, Hamill
HF: Sloane, Walker, McHenry
F: Fogarty, Thilthorpe, McAdam
R: ROB, Laird, Keays
IC: Berry, ROC/Hately, Rowe, Worrell
Sub: Mackay

Guys like Seed, Kelly, Mackay and Frampton should just be cover for injuries. Love the idea of Hamill moving further up the field.
I could get all around this line up.

Just some positional changes.

Fogarty to CHF, Tex to High HFF.

No point teaching the kids to kick to someone who won't be here in a year or two.

McHenry or Murphy to forward pocket.

Who else was there?

Thanks a lot. I had successfully repressed my memory of this.

I think leadership and experience get conflated at times. We need leadership, ie Talia marshalling the defensive group into position. We don't need experience in running around collecting 14 useless touches, the only ones not to contests or opponents are the 2m handballs for the 1/2. Experience is useful only for one's self in terms of putting a performance on the deck. Leadership is what assists those around you to perform better.

Now, I've done no courses or training on this, so happy to be corrected, but it seems blindingly obvious to me.
Look we both agree that MacKay shouldn't be in the side. Put that aside

I think that leadership and experience are conflated. Strong leadership is developed through experiencing the game, making mistakes and learning from them That all comes from actually playing the game and gaining that experience. Sure you have those who are fearless so other naturally will follow but thats OK so long as they are heading in the right direction. Its the experience that helps ensure that the leader is heading in the right direction. Synergy is very similar. One strong leader directing the team and the team follows but if that leader is pointing in the wrong direction then synergy is useless.

Take a look at Talia. He knows what to do in virtually all situations because he has experienced all the situations. Combine that with his skill set and fierce determination, strength etc and you have a great leader.

Seedsman would be leading our BnF

It's not about teaching them to kick to Tex, I'd be happy if they could hit ANY target.

Sloane is a better player than Brayshaw, an odd comparison as they play pretty different games anyway. Langdon vs Seed is line ball. Laird and Oliver in current form is pretty line ball too, Oliver has obviously played midfield for longer.

The Petracca and Gawn matchups worry me the most, but Keays will give his absolute all and can provide defensive pressure at least.
Oliver is a far better player than laird. Oliver is one of the best, and probably most underrated, mids in the comp.

Why you loling GROTTO ?
I wasnt trolling you. I thought this line was funny. There is going to be a few players in our current team that simply wont be here in our next flag push.

I am not as optimistic as some about the future of some of our players.

And ironically Laird became very underrated with this post.

Oliver is a better player but it's really by a slither. Both are easily elite midfielders this year by what they're producing.
