Yeah you know what would make our team better?

Dropping Fogarty for one of Himmelberg or Frampton
Well we know Frampton is half likely to hit someone.

The players should bring their pencils and notepads, gonna get taught "how to football" this coming week.
Its probably going to be a massacre. Although we thought that with Geelong and the Dees

Out:
- Sloane (injured)
- Fogarty (omitted)
- Hamill (omitted)
- McAdam (omitted)

In:
- Hately
- Himmelberg/Frampton
- Worrell
- Murphy/Gollant

On Notice:
- Brown
- Schoenberg

I’m normally not a fan of Kelly, but what game were people watching that they’re asking for him to be dropped? Played a far better game than Doedee who has been absolutely bog average when asked to mark a tall defender.
People also asking for Mackay to be dropped, don’t appear to understand football 🤷‍♂️. He’s the least of our concerns at the moment and is providing at least some run and carry.

Berry had a stinker. Brown with TWO pressure acts for the entire match, TWO. He is going to be absolutely torn to shreds by Charlie Cameron. Compare that to Chayce Jones’ 20 pressure acts.
Darcy Fogarty with 3 possessions for the entire match….1 tackle…. I don’t even know where to begin…
Hamill to me is a huge concern. He’s completely forgotten how to use his number one weapon in speed. Won’t take on players and has regressed so far this season compared to what he was showing us last year.
Schoenberg is one of the only players who shows a bit of quality in terms of his kicking around the ground, particularly I50, but he seems to go missing at other times, and doesn’t impose himself on games. Cruising

At this stage our SANFL team are performing quite well, and some should be rewarded for effort. I think Hately’s body of work (despite not having a cracker this week) should see him up for selection in place of Sloane, and I wouldn’t hesitate to bring in Parnell, Pedlar or Gollant to shake things up

Can't agree with Schoenberg being "on notice".

Kids played 22 games and at times looks like our best mid by a stretch. Expect inconsistency and dropping in and out of games at his age.

He'd be in my first 5 picked every week at the moment.

What's disappointing for me is the fact that Harry only 69% time on ground yesterday. And is only averaging less then 74% TOG for the season. That means this year he's spent over a quarter of game sitting on the pine every week.

For me its time to bump him up into the mid 80's, and with Sloane out, i'd be giving him the Lions share of those CBA's as well.

I agree with your Ins/Outs (but they won't happen).
Wrt Hamill, looks like he's been Crows-ified. That speed/dash that he showed has been Coached out of him because at his level of experience it creates too many errors. The Crows are nothing if not safe.
1) Schoenberg shows more than "a bit of quality"; he'll be our next elite mid, unless we draft a gun mid. His positioning and evasion skills are top-notch; his delivery is very good. Schoenberg is Keays+ ie he can kick with both feet, and I love Keays. Schoenberg "goes missing" when Nicks takes him out of the middle, as in the whole of yesterday's second quarter when our mids were annihilated. That's on Nicks. If anyone is "cruising" it's Fogarty, and McAdam.
2) Out:
- Sloane (injured)
- Fogarty (omitted) ... but won't happen

- McAdam (omitted) ... but won't happen

In:
- Hately
- Himmelberg (not Frampton, not AFL level)
- Worrell
- Murphy (but will he be fit?).

Yeah fair call, but i'd just like to see a bit of a trajectory from him, or at least adding something different to his game week to week. He's by far our best kick going inside F50 we have from a midfielder at the moment.

I mentioned it above, with Sloane out indefinately I suspect Harry's CBA's and TOG to go swiftly up. For me he's earned them.

In a months time we might be seeing those electric quarters he has turn into electric games

The next month is not going to be pretty (Bris, Ess, WCE, WB). 0-4 is highly likely.

Good for our draft pick, but I suspect its going to be a hard slog to watch
Yup. Sigh. Oh well, the boys have already exceeded my expectations for this year (in beating a couple of top teams, not so much in the number of wins - but in wins also) so I'd be ok with 4 competitive losses.

no change to ladder position is likely this week as all bottom 5 sides are likely to lose to higher ranked opponents. The following week both Hawthorn and Collingwood are chances to get wins and if we do go down to Essendon over at Marvel, we would drop to 16th

I just did a quick ladder predictor and all the teams in the bottom 5 besides the Gold Coast have a few winnable games. Gold Coast wont win another game this year, lock them into 17th, calling it now!

1-3, will beat Brisbane. :D

That'd be about on par with our season. Followed by close losses to Hawks and North to round it out.

A loss to north in the last round could be so significant as it might be the difference between them mounting a case for a PP and them not being able to do that. It would be hard for the AFL to grant one to them if they end up on 3 or 4 wins and a draw and we are on 5 or 6 wins ourselves

yeah you can really see something there, huh? I can

They aren't getting a priority pick this year.

If they're a basket case in 2-3 years, maybe... but then again, it's North and not a big Melbourne team/Gold Coast. Just as much chance the AFL gives them the Fitzroy treatment.

I'm certainly not counting on Wins against Hawthorn and North just yet. Both sides have shown a bit lately that suggests they could have a late season uptick. We did something similar last season.

Yup. The main thing in our favour though is both are at home, and young sides rarely travel well.

Of course, we might just be cooked by then, especially if we set ourselves to try to shock a Brisbane/West Coast. It's a long season, and for a large portion of our best 22, it's their first full season.
