Just watching DGB yesterday reinforced just how far behind McAsey is. Same Pick but taken a year earlier than DGB and he looks miles ahead.

Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com
I would most definitely taken DGB before Will Phillips and Logan McDonald ......big mistake by NORTH

At various stages I had DGB as our #1 pick ......he'll Captain the Hawks, and is every bit as good as "The Astronaut"

If I had a $ for every week supporters called for Mackay's axing .....I'd be rich

Clearly people don't watch games ....and I'll take any bet, Mackay will ONCE AGAIN be named against BRIS

It's a pity there isn't more serious footy discussion ....instead of this weekly pisstake
Unfortunately I do watch the games, hence my comment. Absolute garbage yesterday.

I don't watch our training sessions which must be why I can't see how he keeps getting a game.

Did you watch yesterdays game because he sucked balls. You're right though, he will be selected again.
Of course .... I watch every game of every round

There were 10 worse players than Mackay .....I'd be the first to say drop the guy, if I felt it warranted and there was a suitable replacement ......IMO Sholl is most likely to be that player, however Parnell's the perfect like for like

Brown didn't get the job done defensively yesterday .....and he was limping again at stages of the game

ROB had a shocker .....De Koning will go past ROB next year, very impressive player De Koning is .....ROB should have been able to use his superior strength to gain position ...nope couldn't do it
Suggest you watch Sean Darcy to see how ROB should be playing .....Darcy will be the clear #3 ruck in the AFL next year

Doedee was largely non existant .....having no influence on the game

Love how Hamill wins the ball .....but gee what he does with it is sometimes woeful, and his opponent gets off the leash a lot

Butts was thrashed

But none of the above has hadd any discussion re their games .....all except Mackay, it's comical actually

At this point WaynesWorld19 is pro Mackay to be a contrarian.
No, look up my record .....for the last 3 years I have clearly said Mackay is a game by game proposition

I'd be surprised if Mackay doesn't get another 12 month Contract, based on his form this year

Yes ...standing joke, that everyone copies

A) imagine using supercoach/afl fantasy scores to back up your position.

B) Imagine trying to say Butts (who got coaches votes this week for his performance) got thrashed.

With an approach like that, no wonder you support Mackay in this side.

The love for a sh*te footballer in Fogarty is starting to annoy me. I'm all for supporting talent but the only thing Fogarty can do is kick straight 80% of the time. Take Walker out of that forward line and see how Fogarty fares, it won't be pretty viewing. The club is going nowhere playing Fogarty and signing him was another list management mistake. Imo he was only signed as he was the best of a bad lot which included Frampton and Himmelberg.

Anyone that can come in and consitently kick goals as a key forward at a young age at AFL level is not a 'shit footballer'. Thats just such a stupidly bad take. Fog has now played the same number of games as he played last year and also doubled his goal kicking output. For me that's already a sign of progress and you actually need to double down at this point and get the games into him. He's currently at 35 total career games but had the club not totally wasted 2019, he could easily be in that 50-60 game mark now.

The club resigning him was actually not a list management error at all and quite the contrary, had we not signed him youi can almost guarentee someone else would have picked him up. All he has to do is get more of the football and I do not disagree with that, but a key forwards job is to kick goals and he's doing exactly that.

Butts was thrashed?

I certainly didn't see it that way, I thought he battled manfully against a bigger strong more experienced player and more than held his own in the one on one contests....so much so that he figured in this weeks coaches votes unlike his opponent.

Not the be all of player analysis ....but better than Fantasy numbers, in that it measures impact on games as well as effectual possessions

Butts never looked like beating Mckay .....each contest was McKays to lose & he had way too much strength & knowledge on body positioning than Butts

Butts for the majority of this year has been a revelation .....but the last 3 - 4 weeks have seen a big drop in performance

That's because CARL had too many players who won their positions .....if Butts got some Coach's votes, that's more a reflection of the ADEL team TBH

Walkers inability to bring the ball to ground remains infuriating .....he does so many things well, but falters a lot on the basics

Nope Wayno you are wrong on this one Butts given his relative inexperience at this point and this season's credentials of his opponent he was clearly in our top 5 or 6 players on the day.

Agree with the concept of youngsters but perhaps too many. I would keep Ned in the team. Many criticise his lack of control but I am starting to see his efforts and I reckon we should persevere.
Sloane - injured
Brown - keep
McHenry - keep
McAdam - happy to drop
Fogarty - I am still not seeing what I thought he promised. I see his ability but he just doesn't deliver.
Kelly - Sometimes he looks good and then other times he looks disinterested and is just turning up for a game.

Who I would like to see come in would be Pedlar, Worrell McAsey. Its a pity that we couldn't get to see what Cook can do and I feel Gollant may not get a chance to have a go. Not really sold on Murphy.

I think Brown should be forced to find form and prove fitness in the 2s. I'd drop him for one of the 3 talls defenders this week.

you really reckon $250 would make you rich? Anyway, he is discussed a lot bevause he's existed on the fringe for years and on form could be dropped most weeks. He's clearly been discussed at selection too as has been dropped numerous times over the last few years. Do you think we should be discussing players that have never been close to getting dropped? To complain about posters discussing the few genuinely selection decisions is quite absurd. We make on average a couple of changes each week, there's a reason Mackay is mentioned so often.

Discuss players that are "genuinely" a chance of being dropped ......not your wish list

If you honestly think Butts was thrashed & Mackay was not amongst our worst players, then you are a terrible judge of football performances.

Butts was in the coaches votes!

Even saying ROB had a shocker is pretty funny. At times he was dead set bullying De Koning in the ruck.

De Koning may jump high but ROB smashed him in the ruck and around the ground. Was twice as good easily.

My thoughts also, yet the popular view here is that the young guy beat him.

Bursa was good enough to get a coaches vote

There were worse players than Mackay, McAdam springs to mind.

But not many more

Sloane out is the perfect time to give O'Connor a bunch of games to see whether he has anything before we have to make a call on his future
Or to help us get a better draft pick at end of year

don’t see it at all in his game
