Speaking of bad selections against Sydney:

I remember watching an SANFL game and thinking "Jeez Redden is absolutely cooked".

Then he got called up against Sydney, got 9 disposals, 1 mark and 6 hitouts. That ended up being his last AFL game.

I could see Mayes going out before Bonner and that'd spark the melt fuse. Bonner is probably going out, but he's been nowhere near as bad as many want to think, and Mayes has been horrid for multiple weeks now, so it is possible and that'd make for some interesting reading this/tomorrow arvo.
