Roberton in? meh.

Agree with Griff instead of Roberton as well.

Bit hard on Anthony, fair enough didn't have a great game but Crichton isn't doing much either and is a common type we have in the squad already.

Wait and see I guess.

I guess the only question now is, who is the substitute? If the club stays true to form it will be Mzungu.

I like it, can't argue with any of the inclusions.

Anthony is unlucky, especially given Griffin wasn't picked. But we really need extra run, and I wouldn't want to be too tall on Saturday given the likely conditions or given the fact some of our midfielders are already under injury clouds.

More importantly, some very underwhelming selections for Port. Aside from a late change (Schultz), Westhoff will be their second ruckman leaving them a bit bare up forward.

At least Griffin and Anthony are emergencies, so maybe there'll be late withdrawal.

Pretty sure Anthony didn't travel, so it will be either Griffin or JVB.

B: Greg Broughton, Antoni Grover, Paul Duffield
HB: Garrick Ibbotson, Luke McPharlin, Dylan Roberton
C: Matthew de Boer, Matthew Pavlich, Nathan Fyfe
HF: Stephen Hill, Kepler Bradley, Ryan Crowley
F: Hayden Ballantyne, Christopher Mayne, Michael Johnson
Foll: Aaron Sandilands, David Mundy, Nick Lower
I/C: Rhys Palmer, Clancee Pearce, Jesse Crichton, Tendai Mzungu

Emg: Jay Van Berlo, Jonathon Griffin, Jack Anthony

EDIT: Mark Harvey clearly dislikes people who have names beginning with 'J' this week.

Mzungu was well aware of what his teammates would expect of him when he runs out onto AAMI Stadium as a Fremantle Docker for the first time.

“They expect me to put my body on the line when it’s my turn to go and compete,” he said.

Fremantle coach Mark Harvey admitted playing Mzungu was a “massive punt” but one that has been forced upon the club given its 14-strong injury list.

Mzungu and Palmer will both play in the midfield, so yeah, Pavlich should definitely go forward.

It's good to see us back down to 6 talls, as that worked well for us last season. In saying that, Pavlich has been playing as a mid so it may actually be 5 talls.

Be interesting to see whether Anthony plays WAFL.

Harves said on radio this morning he'd copped a heavy cork on the weekend.

Good to see positive players coming in - thought we had too many negating players last week and with JVB out as well as McPhee to a degree that balance looks a bit better. With Roberton and Mzungu providing a bit more run out of defence as well it looks a better balanced side. And Ballantyne back is obviously a positive.
Hopefully Palmer gets a chance in the middle and grabs it

Agreed.

I think with MJ, Duffield, Broughton and Hill down on form, along with the likes of Crichton and Pitt trying to find their feet, the selection of 4+ defensive players every week has just been compounding the problem.
