This "dry" season has been very unusual in Darwin. The cool mornings just haven't been there.

Some days we have had rain predicted. It's near 8am 22 Deg and 96% humidity just now. Max 32-34 Deg.
Not exactly right for Thommo or anyone needing a rest like Milera.

We have a six day break coming back from the heat in darwin against the pussies however. Need to bank the points against Melbourne.

I Guess 26 - 23 deg C is heat compared to Adelaide's 10 deg C. Luckily playing in the evening with no sun above will help but the humidity a little high at 50-70% between 7 & 10 pm. Being a spectator will be glorious. NT Crows supporters group will be out in force I'm sure.

How is it proven?

Compare his output when he has played AFL, he's been given an opportunity

If you are dropping players like Douglas then bring in guys who will provide less output you would be a moron this year

If we were in a development stage then go your hardest play Sig, Poholke, gooch even Gore to see if they are capable

We have

Greenwood
ROB
Hampton
Seeds
Harto
Lynch
Cheney
Menzel

Out of Fridays 22 All of which will be available come finals how many of those won't be required come finals do we need anymore not being required

Should we be considering developing when every single game is like gold to us we aren't Brisbane

Top 2 finish will see us with not travelling come finals that is the most important thing to us right now not developing anyone

There is an opportunity at a flag the team is pretty much settled we have tried Hampton Menzel greenwood beech gooch, plus snyone that played in the JLT, so the selectors and coaches know where they are at

They coach these youngsters in the SANFL do they know there strengths and weaknesses

Gooch will play AFL he just needs development against big bodies and he is gaining that in the SANFL I'm hoping by year end he is a 30 posessions plus winner at SANFL level, a couple of games like that and he may be elevated

So your idea of an opportunity is one game and from that you have proof that his output won't match Douglas?

That's pretty shallow thinking. If you are judging him on one game then Douglas had 14 possessions on the weekend, against the Hawks in round 2 Douglas had 13. There you go, Galluci matches Douglas's output.

He had a lowly 10 against brissie didn't he?

Forget SANFL Thommo gets 30 most games in that comp

So you are happy that come finals time the usual suspects will know damn well that there is no competition for their spot as usual so their only obstacle will be booking flights.
That come finals time if these players have had a poor run, age is catching up with them and they have a couple of injury niggles, they will still be selected no matter what because noone else has been give enough AFL exposure through the year?

Hmmm groundhog day or what?

We carried Thomspon last week when you were suggesting he was a definite need.
Why wouldn't we be able to do the same for a kid who will almost certainly improve with afl exposure or at least provide the perception of "outside run" ala Dmac, ?

First game ever comming of average SANFL form. He is playing better now than he was when selected. Amazing where gametime gets you.

Hah Thommos Hardness. He has been getting shoved around by kids in the SANFL games Ive watched.

He had 11, that's only 3 less than Douglas did on the weekend and 2 less than Douglas achieved against the Hawks. So based on your "proven" analysis, he can match Douglas's output at AFL level.

Go back to the thread I was surprised as anyone they picked him I said otten in and CC in and would have done my doe on Thommo

I justified why they did it but by no means did I say he originally should have come in

As for Groundhog Day the coaches know fully well if these players are up to it

Are you saying we have moron coaches who know nothing and the club is a rudderless ship?

Mate even I have conceded with how we are going and the fact we sit top that Hamish has done a good job on recruiting, how can I not we are on top of the ladder. But if I do that it means everyone in the club is doing a pretty damn good job also

I'm not going to play favs like this board does

Did you watch yesterday's game and see a couple of howlers by Doedee and people want that disposal at AfL level in our backline?

Gee that would be a sight to see

Im sure they know if they are up to it. In exactly the same self-snookering way they knew who was up to it last finals series.

You're not going to play faves? How about judging Galluci after one game and not applying the same criteria to Douglas?

How many premierships have these coaches won?

They brought in Thompson on the weekend, they don't get it right all of the time. In fact there's a history that they get it wrong sometimes.

The scary thing is I don't think Pyke and his band of merry men will drop Thompson. They will give him a couple of games to find some form that doesn't exist.

The weak links in the current 22 are:

Douglas, McKay, thommo and Cameron.

Yeah I saw his howlers. Should fit into our back 6 beautifully. Remember Hartigan, Kelly, Shaw and Talias Howlers in the early days also. Dude is more talented than at least 3 of those 4.

Oh so your happy with howlers that result basically in a gimme goal?

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app

No not at all. And Im dissatisfied with the fact that we use a first round draft pick on a kid that cant kick.
But you would have to admit that not many of our defenders have brilliant kicks and as such I dont think he would look out of place in our backline whatsoever.

Toss a coin on who makes the most kicking errors out of our back 6 on any given day.

We obviously didnt recruit him for his leg so I dont think this would even be a consideration.

.

Wasn't he talking about Galluci? What does Doedee have to do with it?

Was about to say that, but I think Marty has a point. It isnt about the individual player here, its about our lack of willingness to give untried players a decent run.

Wasn't he talking about Galluci? What does Doedee have to do with it?

He was saying he watched SANFL games I was asking him about the disgraceful disposal of Doedee and how he would feel about that being in our backline at AFL level, he agreed Doedee made some howlers and said it didn't matter as he thought our backline had bad disposal anyway

May aswell call a spade a spade

He was also saying you are judging Galluci on one game of AFL football and if we are doing that, Galluci matched Douglas's output on the weekend.

Might as well call a spade a spade.

Correct I am judging and so are the coaches, results or performances speak louder than potential

Wouldn't you say?

Go out rip up the SANFL like Greenwood was then you will get your go, Gooches performances haven't been anywhere near that, go see how Beech did it he won the B and F last year
