This is assuming Blakely comes in and picks up where he left off mid last year or whenever it was.

Maybe he isn't AFL match ready?

I'm sure there is pretty good logic behind the decision.
We are going well. Time to put a little trust in the coach and players and not jump at shadows when someone has one offish game.

Blakely will be back when the time is right, I'm sure.
No Cant have that
The time is right now
At 90% I would have Blakely ahead of most inside mids other than Fyfe and Mundy
Unless there is a risk of injury this selection decision is lunacy

considering our recent history with soft tissue injuries i'm not adverse to taking a slowly slowly approach with top talent like him.

What he said. No sense in risking a future 200 game player by pushing him when he isn't ready. And there's no reason the team we played last week can't get the job done.

Maybe Hogan or McCarthy out.

There's more chance of me getting called up than there is of Hogan getting dropped.

Conspiracy theory alert:

The news around Blakleys injury was rather secretive for a few days was it not?
Then when it was announced no real news about how / when etc was released.

Did he maybe injury himself in a way that was not becoming of a professional footballer and is now part of a club imposed suspension as a result?

Feel like if we were playing a team with a better midfield he would have come in this week. As is maybe we think we have enough to combat a Cotchin-less tigers midfield (with Dusty out of form as well) and can give him another week.

Does seem odd considering there isn't a Peel game though.

We were killed in the ruck last week, so Darcy can't come in fast enough for me. But ut has to be another tall to go out or we'll be too slow. Probably Lobb.

Darcy’s follow up isn’t afl standard. You’d expect him to dominate hitouts at wafl level, but shouldn’t be in until his follow up is afl ready imo.

Gets 20+ touches two weeks in a row and isn't fully fit? Doesn't add up for me.
State level, I’m sure VFL would be similar, isn’t as cut throat or fast as AFL. It was a significant injury, grade 3 hamstring tear. But either way very odd he’s not coming in this week. Probably 3-4 weeks of WAFL was his plan anyway? Fingers crossed he doesn’t get some stupid injury in state league..

I like your thinking and agree with the idea, but Lobb is all over the website this week doing soft media, so it seems unlikely. It's worrying to think the selectors see Lobb as a better ruck package - his mobility doen't make up for the fact he is average.
But I agree if Darcy comes in either Lobb or Tabs has to come out, that gold coast game was lost cause we played em all.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post but I would love to know Freo Fans thoughts on Brayshaw V Tucker this weekend from fantasy perspective, who is gonna get the most ball against Richmond who leak points like they are going out of fashion. Cheers
