Changes v Adelaide - OUT: Stretch, IN: JKH

Pedo stays. The Crows have a vast array of talls, that's their strength, so I don't think we'll be going in too tall even for Darwin. Shit, I'd even put Pedo on a wing Riewoldt style!

IN: Watts, Tyson
OUT: Kent, Stretch
Like the idea. But I reckon get Hogan up on the wing and get him involved early.

Misson saying watts unlikely this week.
If thats the case tyson for stretch is my only change.

Watts is becoming the new Nick Smith...

I'm oddly confident. I think we'll towel them. Their personnel and game plan hasn't changed much. Ours has, sure, but in some ways for the better (Max in the middle as opposed to Pedo/Watts). Dees by 35.

Would much rather Pedo. The problem with Hogan up on the wing is (a) most of the time that leaves someone like Jeffy inside 50, often against a bigger opponent, (b) Hogan isn't normally a quick decision maker, so unless someone is streaming by for an easy handball then he usually goes back off the mark and takes way too long to dispose of it hence the defence is able to flood back, and (c) his field kicking isn't always up to scratch. I'd rather him on the end of the possession chain, kicking for goal from a set shot :)

Interesting point in general, have enjoyed watching the Demons this year but didn't realise how badly you'd played the G as most of the matches I've seen are Etihad or out of state where you've looked really good overall. Very tough match to call this one, injuries probably just give the edge to the Crows but neither result would surprise.

It just normally takes a quarter or two to sort out our ball movement and zone at the G. We have also played our best quarters there as well just no consistency.

Hogan doesn't lead at the ball carrier like TMac does. Our current best structure is Hogan CHF (He actually looked good in the 3rd pushing up the ground) and TMac FF.

Yeah I like Hogan getting his marks outside 50 because he can turn and weight kicks for the forwards nicely as well and his lack of pressure doesn't hurt as much. He can then start using his tank to push forward on mismatches

He also is excellent at ground level and has damn good hands in traffic. Isn't super quick but can turn on a dime compared to a lot of other guys his height. The kick to TMac early in the 3rd was a beautiful piece of play.

He reminds me more of Jarryd Roughhead than any other key forwards. Rough was never a really good key forward in the sense of big marks and clutch goals but he was a presence who could drift into the midfield and have 25 and kick 2.

Agree, reckon Hogan is a bit better in the air but Roughy is a much longer and therefore more dangerous kick in front of goal. I think Hogan will be an elite CHF but his lack of depth when kicking for goal is always going to be a weak point for him.

You're going mad again, aren't you?

Viney and Jones out is too much for us to cope with against good sides.
I think we can manage if Tyson is back. Losing him was big for our midfield rotation.

Tyson in for Smith would be my only change if Watts isn't fit.

Tyson for Stretch for mine, Smith wont be dropped after being rushed straight back.

Agreed, Smith will be better for the run I think, while Stretch has been horrid since returning to the side.

22 and a goal vs WCE a fortnight ago. Hardly horrid.
