Whole team was knackered. Sydney were not moving fast and we just couldn't get out of 2nd gear. With a good break I can't see it not being addressed.

Yeah, we should see a completely different team this week, it was amazing how fatigued we looked last week, they literally just ran circles around us, and we couldnt do anything about it.

Will be interesting to see which players get the biggest boost in midfield time. As mentioned by others, Lewis and Vince you'd think. Maybe Petracca too. Going to be an interesting battle up against a pretty good midfield.

Reckon that MFC page mixup is legit, it'll be Hogan/Smith/Kent/Garlett in. Topkent its time for our boy to show something over the next month otherwise he'll be looking at the rest of the year in the magoos.

Yeah, I'd be staggered if a significant amount of time hasn't been put into him this week. We don't have the luxury of simply just throwing our best at them and relying on them to get the job done, because we're missing half of them.

This is why I think Melk has been really good. That half-forward tag role he has been doing has been really effective. Plus he isn't a true defensive forward so he can work through the midfield as needed too.

I'm actually more confident with those changes. Yes the midfield is stuffed, but at the same time a huge chunk of our issue last week was the forward line - we had no targets and no forward pressure. Jeffy and Kent change that dynamic. Hogan also helps our forward structure immensely as now we have a pressure point for the forwards to target with the long ball in.

We shall see.

Jones is 2-4 now yes? So best case he returns for Port.

I have noticed since he has moved into this type of role the bagging on here has stopped. I for one haven't ragged on him since the bye. He's been serviceable in the role he is in now.

I was thinking the same thing, we may have no midfielders but thats a potent forward line. I'm kind of hoping carlton pull a melbourne and don't cope with the expectation of smashing us in the midfield.

It's a handy out, I was in tassie in round 2 listening on the radio and in the third quarter it felt like we were passing it to him every time we went forward I was starting to visualise him in red and blue.

Hogan inclusion is massive; not just cause he's a gun player but even if he's a bit underdone, will boost the guys around him

I think this game is where we see the Lewis trade pay off, we've probably overestimated his worth to the side in the off season but mostly due to younger guys stepping up and our senior players all in good form.

Hogan comes in and he takes the best defender with him. I heard spud frawley saying he would get hogan higher up the ground take liam jones or whoever away from the 50. If we can get the ball in quickly it could cause some headaches for carlton.

I think will a fully fit team Hogan should play as a CHF. He has a huge tank and really good field kicking.

I've been pretty pessimistic all week but if the ins are Hogan/Garlett/Kent/Smith then we should be winning this.
