If a professional organisation can't prepare and support a player to play a game where he is expected to be on a steep learning curve, there are big problems.

Goad should play and he should be prepared that this is purely an unforeseen opportunity to get early exposure. Take it as a learning opportunity. It makes sense.

Goad’s skill set is just not at AFL level - or even close to it - imo. He gives away tons of ruck frees in the VFL. I reckon he’d get absolutely crucified by the umps in the AFL.

He’s clearly got his traits but he needs a lot more development.

His coaching looks tailored to the coach, not the player. He has a better skillset than Monkey or Xerri and we should be training to use his height and jump not wrestle. I don't mind doing it as part of his education but not all the time.
