Lyons might be a possibility, put him in the midfield, throw Danger into the forward line. Dangerfield is carrying an injury, could use the rest up forward and do some damage.

Do not mind at all Danger playing as leading FF, McKernan in the pocket and Jenkins at CHF

Maybe Danger can stay in Mckernans ear and mentor him?

So who would you like to see TAGGED and by who:D

Mitchell has to be tagged ......Kerridge if he plays, Wright if he doesn't

No match up for Franklin? Ever heard the Midnight Oil song Short Memory? And we didnt have Talia playing last time. Or are you referring to Massie not playing?

But Buddy is due to kick straight and have a big one.

Really have to watch how North worked Franklin over, it wasn't just one player it was the whole defence and the mids helping out. Cyril is a massive loss for them, Roughies not in form and they have problems at the back. Would love Tex to do the pre game rev up and have them breathing fire and ready to smash them into the turf.

Is Buddy having his Cloke 2012 year? Let's hope so.

No Cyril is disappointing and I hate seeing the best players out injured... are the Hawks fans gone? They are? Thank f*** he's not playing! This is the best news EVER! We have no match up and he would destroy us.

Ahem...

Tex is obviously loved within the playing group and if they are ever going to lift it has to be this game. Whether it lasts the whole game is the issue.
They can lift for tex in the first half and for truck in the second half :thumbsu:

Wouldn't Thompson go with Mitchell, & Smith to Birchell I wouldn't use Wright as a tagger
he plays better at being tagged taking the tagger where Wright wants to go

Buddy is playing higher up the ground with Roughead the ancchor FF .....Buddy will Drag Talia away from our structure and leave us terribly exposed

Sam Kerridge has played 2 games of AFL (I don''t count the Hawthorn cameo last year). One good game and last week he struggled but wasn't clueless.

There is absolutely no point going back to Stiffy, Nutta, Bling and the one armed man. We have some great young(ish) talent and it's time to take the good with the bad.

Kerridge - Yes, Laird - Yes, Brown (if fit) - Yes, Lyons - Yes, Lynch - Yes and Smack - Possibly:)

I agree ...but that's how Wright has been used the majority of this season

Would rather use Smith as an offensive player coming off HB that in a negating role ........think though Otten would be ideal

Not a bad idea re Thommo though:thumbsu:

Where does Graham sit? We got him, might as well look at him - can he be any worse than Sauce has been?

Danger is a solid target up forward too - and he's getting tagged to buggery in the middle. Do we use this as a fall back? Or maybe move Truck forward?

Not sure whether to throw it all in and just get as many games into the kids as we can.

Good questions jenny. Sauce is so far off the boil something has to be done, but if anything, I reckon they will go with Smack. From what I read Graham's ruckwork is OK but he is poor around the ground........based on that he can't be any worse than Sauce at the moment.

From either an injury or lack of support Danger's effectiveness has also diminished, so lets give him a huge bunch of time up forward and spell him out of the centre a bit. We have 6 forward players and I struggle to see what real value at least 4 of them have been.

Wouldn't Petrenko be the defensive/forward on Birchall? Petrenko has shown in the past he can kick goals and hurt you going the other way. In my opinon I think he could be the one given the task.

Adelaide forwards vs Hawthorn defense

Jenkins vs Lake
Lynch vs Stratton
Otten vs Gibson
Petrenko vs Birchall
Jaensch vs Guerra
Wright/Douglas vs Hodge

Midfield Battle

Dangerfield vs Lewis
Sloane vs Shiels
Vince vs Sewell
S.Thompson vs Mitchell

Jacobs vs Bailey

Adelaide defense vs Hawks forwards

Rutten vs Roughead
Talia vs Franklin
B.Smith vs Breust
Reilly vs Puopolo

I'm worried about a few of the match up's. For the Hawks to win, we need to contain the dominance/influence of Jacobs, Dangerfield and Sloane. Those three players are the ones we really have to shut down. That last quarter by Dangerfield in last years PF was outstanding. It goes to show how damaging Dangerfield can be when he is playing at his best. Shuting him down won't be an easy task. We must stop his run and carry, he is so explosive once he gets goal side of you. I reckon Jordan Lewis is his likely match up.

Another player we must shut down is Rory Sloane. He is very good at getting his hands at the footy in the midfield and can hurt you going forward. Like Dangerfield, If given time and space they will cut you up up in the blink of an eye. If we can nulify they're influence, it will then go along way of helping us get the four points.

The other player we must stop is Sam Jacobs. I rate him highly as a ruckman and at his best, he is probably in the top four best rucks in the competition. It's going to be a tough ask for Bailey (26) to contain the influence of Sam Jacobs. Although the Hawks were beaten in the ruck last week, Bailey was able to drift forward and kick 3 crucial goals. If we can at least break even in the ruck, then we are a real chance of gaining that ascendancy threw the middle of the ground. Those are the three players who I've identified as the key to the Crows chances. Stop them and we just about win the match.

Good luck on Saturday it's going to be a beauty! :thumbsu:

Tip: Hawthorn by 8 points.

I have not seen many Crows games this year but you don't seem to be travelling too well by the sound of these boards. You guys are in with a bigger chance than you think. We don't play too well in Adelaide, against you or Port. Last years game against Port was not the norm.

Both teams seem to have form and injury issues. You guys lost your number 1 forward and we lost our no.1 "spark" player. We also have WhiteX, Suckling, Sewell, Ellis, Anderson and Schoenmakers missing from our best 23 players, which robs us of some of our defensive drive and midfield grunt.

I will wait to see if Sewell, and maybe Anderson, are back this week but I am not sure that they will be.
We have had form issues with Hale, Guera, Gunston (Though I think he is adjusting to a new role at the moment), Savage, Lewis (turned it around against the Kangas though) and both Mitchell and Hodge have been below their best in the last 2 weeks.

North smashed us in all KPI's on the weekend but we managed to scrape over the line, mainly on the back of Rioli. Hodge and Mitchell also pulled their finger out inthe last to provide composure and leadership which helped no end.

I think the North game was us having a very down day and North playing near their best in most areas of their game. The tough season start is certainly starting to hit our run in the last 1/4 or so and this week will not help that with 6 days break and travel. This is another reason I think you are in this more than you think.

Will be interesting, I am hoping for a win as I am going but I am not counting my chickens yet.

Best case for us will be -

In - Sewell, Anderson, Duryea
Out - Savage (omitted), Rioli, Hale (Omitted)

FB: Guera - Lake - Gibbo
HB: Birch - Stratts - Hodge
C: Smith - Mitch - Hill
HF: Lewis - Buddy - Burgoyne
F: Gunston - Rough - Breust
Foll: Bailey - Sewell - Shiels
I/C: Puopolo - Osbourne - Duryea - Sub: Anderson

Most likely won't drop Hale and if not then we will not bring in Duryea. If Anderson is unavailable then Duryea might still come in for Savage.

Agree. (Bolded) Amusingly clever in perception and expression!:D

Replacement for that bloke who hurt his leg on the weekend.

If they try and sell it to me as that, I won't be a happy camper.

On the other hand if they have decided that playing three big men - as we did for a lot of last year - is back on the agenda, then that's ok. That will also require some rejigging of the forward line too - perhaps we go smaller and use Lynch a bit more, maybe Porplyzia becomes a "tall" leading target. Over to you, Bicks.

You cannot just do a like for like replacement McKernan for Walker. That is dumb, really really dumb.
