Simpson noted in the presser that the MC are trying to keep a balance of experience and developing kids, so guess Rosa was just a victim of this balance. My guess is Rosa would probably be playing if we were much closer to a finals campaign.

I think we might see Ellis start to rotate up a bit higher on occasions with both he and Butler in the side.
He is held in the highest regard when fit.
Simmo would love to have him working up the ground a bit when possible I reckon, even the odd rotation with mids.

People forgetting how good Rosa is when he strings games together I reckon...wasn't he top 3 in our B&F last year up until he got injured? Not to mention some good games early this year. Has added some serious courage and a bit of grunt to his game in recent years, think hes a lock for the 22 when fit personally.

Really hope Lycett, Rosa, Newman, Barrass, McInnes and Nelson tear it up this weekend. Helps to have the next guys in line in form and ready to step in.

We can carry Rosa + those guys more easily than we can Selwood + Priddis/Sheed/Shuey/Yeo/Duggan.
IMO it's more important to have versatile players in the 22 than it is inside midfielders. Both Selwood and Priddis don't offer much when they aren't playing in the centre square, and we can't afford to play both on the ball the whole game as we'll miss out of the drive from Shuey/Yeo that has seen the side improve. We're also not going to drop Priddis because he's outperforming Selwood in all areas.
Rosa can play a midfield role and since he is useful on the spread can play HF/HB effectively. On 2015 form he's a better tagger than Selwood too!

Guys, what are your thoughts on the game going ahead?
Big issue is that it is the Darwin game. Obviously your side has a much closer link to Walshy than us though. It's going to be nigh on impossible to reschedule it though.

Our boys could be pretty flat now. A lot of the group would have had plenty to do with Phil.
Hopefully they can get up for it.

I feel as though the game will go ahead with the boys having the option to sit out if they don't feel up to playing. We would then just fly over any willing players to make up the numbers I supposed. It's a difficult situation for the club, but I feel as though most of the players will be keen to just get out there and play footy, rather than dwell on the tragedy.
