Because you read opinions you dont agree with.. Its half true. Not fully, but half.. if boak wasnt captian he would be in the first handful of names mentioned in the outs each week.. it isnt and shouldn't happen.. but several points about his game and the decline are very valid.

No, because everything is extreme. We are either premiership favourites when we win, when we lose everyones a ****ing shitcampaigner, sack everyone, hinkleys shit, koch is shit, its all KTs fault etc. Players are either legends or they are ****ing useless campaigners. There is no middle ground. It makes this place impossible to moderate.

Boak hasnt been terrible. The suggestion hes been terrible for 4 years is plain stupid. Hes been inconsistent for 1 1/2 years. Hes been alright. Hes had great games, match winning games and hes had games like this week and against GC last year where he turned it over all the time. It happens.

We know how to turn and eat our own here.

I did the same and agree his game was better than I first thought but its still not good enough for a player of Boaks reputation.

Another one who watched the replay and thought he wasn't as bad as I was watching live. I think his hands have been good this year, less fumbly but his kicking and decision making is very erratic. We keep talking about connection with the forwards, not sure how that's helped by the Boaks and Eberts. I agree we have no better options but it will cost us in the big games, we have to improve our forward entries.

Can someone start a doodle poll for the next player we can all just scapegoat for everything bad that ever happens? Sam Gray, Neede, Boak... Boak...wtf? He's been nothing but a champion of the club for the best part of a decade, he still has been one of our best in 3 or 4 games this year. He's also played one or two poor ones, but the criticism for Thursday is way overblown.
Big difference between demanding excellence and just being petulant. Will continue supporting anyone who puts on the guernsey and puts his head over the ball time and time again.

I don't want him dropped either, but nah. R. Gray, Ryder, Wines, Wingard, Westhoff, Rockliff, Polec, Powell-Pepper, Jonas all clearly better, that's 9. Dixon, Motlop, Howard, Ebert, Hartlett pre-ACL others who are probably ahead too.

I reckon Boak's in about the 15th-20th range on our list now. But we have to pick 22 players every week, and he adds intangibles beyond his performance alone, so I wouldn't be dropping him.

Yep. Marshall will be with us for a long time. Ken said exactly that. Giving him a break this week wont do him any harm.

At this stage Watts offers more than Marshall, but I can't see Todd getting dropped after 1 game back. Westhoff played Watt's role very well, but will need to float down back to help cut off Hogan and McDonald, so we need Jack back in; unlucky out is SGary, Thomas stays in as he's a genuine small forward and knows how to play that role. Ebert's form is in decline, bring in Trengove or Atley.
Don't think Jonas will be fit, but if so he's in (for Clurey?).
Our ball movement against the Dogs was quicker than it has been this season, and we seemed to keep our forward structure, hopefully this continues.

His 1st game back was always going to be tough...given what he has gone through actually thought his game and what he does with each touch and his positioning was very good...only upside after game 1...
