He would be ok up forward if he could kick straight. Wastes so many shots. Enough to not even bother with him up forward, and just leave him in the middle.

Liking the changes apart from the injuries of course.
Major concern for me is Smith - seeing him live over here I couldn't have been more disappointed - insipid , fumbly and ineffective in close where a normal footballer would use his size - just like 211 and Darcy did. Was virtually invisible around the ground except when he ran in late to man the mark when he should have been there to mark it himself or 1/2 the contest.
If North get over the line back it in Goldstein will be BOG.

Still have changes to be made before finals though - Tuohy has to pull his finger out, Bews could lose his spot when O’Connor comes back, and Smith really needs to make a statement. But this is a good start.

You didn't see what Narkle did in the VFL?

Selwood and Henderson dumped, thank goodness. MC seems to be waking up, good stuff. Just Clark, Rohan and O'Connor, maybe Constable to come back in soon and we've got our 22 for the finals. Ruck doesn't faze me, both are putrid, so go get em big Smitty.

This is an excellent comment. We, and I include myself in this, have to get over the ruck selection. All are very poor and it will have no bearing on our success. Happy to back Smith in for a little while because Stanley barely gives us anymore.

Shaking my head that Smith is still in, but other than that I'm very happy with the changes. Good to see they're not afraid to drop senior players instead of shoe-horning them into the side as they have tended to do the past.

Glad to see Parfitt back (pardon the pun) - I think we've missed his tackling and ability in congested situations.

I'm sorry people but Bews is still in and so he should be, clearly the MC rate him as best 22 and hopefully he's played in his best position, which is BP.

O'Connor is also best 22 right now but not at the expense of Bews and unless Tuohy starts to get more offence back into his game then I'd be replacing him with O'Connor because Bews is a much better defender.

If they end up replacing Bews with O'Connor then I'll eat my words but I don't see it happening.

Play Danger in the guts this week Scotty, our best clearance mid sitting forward when we are getting smashed continues to blow my mind.

Could not agree more with this. We have been robbing Peter to pay Paul and instead getting no benefit in either position. Fix the main problem first (midfield, contested possessions, clearances and FIELD POSITION) and then worry about the dysfunctional forward line. The difference he makes when he is in there is unreal. The team just goes up a notch. I understand he is great forward and that our forward line for so many years has been our achilles heal but we have to have him in the middle.
