I only saw this last year when covid interrupted the season. Fox footy played a lot of old classic games to fill the void.

It's before my time but I'll always get a kick out of watching the last quarter of the final round in '87.

For context Melbourne hadn't made the finals in 27 years and needed to win against Footscray but also for Hawthorn to get over Geelong to make it. As the quarter goes on Melbourne develops a comfortable lead then towards the end of the quarter a huge roar goes up around the ground. There was nothing of note happening in the game which left the commentators slightly bewildered before they realised that Hawthorn had hit the front against Geelong. The Melbourne supporters were all listening to the game on their portable radios.

Cash was way better in the nfl as a punter back then. He left pretty much in his prime. Was a very good player. He kept Allen Jakovich in the reserves which tells you a lot.

We are almost completely injury free. I wouldn't trade him cause he won't be worth a pick before 50 but if I was him I'd ask to leave.
