No Prestia, Edwards, Houli, Caddy, Nankervis and Cotchin (I believe).

In addition to a one day extra break and they are playing interstate. Also we have the wood on them.

I'd be majorly disappointed if we dont go 6-3. Time to bring some experienced hardened bodies for such a crucial game.

Why are there so many Young haters?

Lachie seems to cover a lot of ground, but needs more baking in the oven to get in positon to get more of it and just as crucially use it effectively.

Ins
Trengrove, McLean, West, Lloyd/Dickson

Outs
Gowers, Porter, Young, Weightman

No more of this debuting kids BS. We need to keep winning. Bring in the experience.

English to play more forward this week. Give us a bit more tall structure and less impact on his body.
We’re going to need some of those kids though in the coming weeks.

Cotchin likely back they said. Could play tomorrow but saving him.

Absolutely not discounting them from returning. In fact if we rotate I'd imagine we can bring several of those back in for the short turn around against Port.

For example I'd give Weightman a spell and bring him back for the Port game. Even though I'm a Schache critic I would do that also for the Port game.

Think several might miss for the 5 day turnaround so if we can keep our players fresh that would be a good thing.

I like Porter but I think he'll end up as a nice role player, not a top line mid. He's hard nosed, gets a couple of nice touches, seems to be trying to get the most out of himself but I don't think he'll end up as much more than a battler. West on the other hand is all that and has the skills and potential to be a game changer if given a chance on ball. I hope we can somehow keep Porter around as a long term depth option as there are lots of great sides that have his type waiting in the sidelines in case they need it but right now I prefer West.

In: West and Lloyd

Out: Porter and Gowers

Out
Weightman
Gowers
Porter

Was evident last night that some of our youngsters aren’t up to it yet and others are terribly out of form. Happy to give Young another go as I thought he was much improved from the week before, may struggle further though as there’s a long list of players holding down or waiting in line for his natural position.

Hunter
Jong
McLean
Dunkley
Naughts
Duryea
Dale
Schache
Lloyd

All best 22 or close to when not injured or out of form. Would like to see these players slowly find their spots back in the side over the coming weeks so see a more settled line up.

I would drop weightman. I think against Richmond got need that defensive forward to play on Grimes so I'd keep young. Prob bring in Lloyd or schache. Toby comes in for maybe libba for a rest? I think this is the easiest of our next three due to the tigers injuries so I'd keep libba fresh for brissie and port

I thought Porter was alright. He’s never gonna be a b+ player but no problem keeping him in the team for me in a season where you need to play as many players as possible. He got a horrible run from the umps with HTB.

The weather looks good next week so Schache must be considered. I know he was horrible v Carlton but he shouldn’t have been picked that game in the wet and the fact is he only played 58% game time. Bring him in for Gowers.

if they don’t want to do that then bring in Sweet to give English a break and play English mainly forward. I think this is likely over the next few weeks given Sweet has been emergency and if Astbury doesn’t play, we should go for it.

if Trengove was ever going to get picked it would be this game given he smashed Lynch last year. Highly unlikely though. Keath deserves first crack at him but will be his biggest challenge to date.

maclean/ west for Weightman/ Porter.

of our bottom 6, Young was probably the best and he seems to have the most upside, but we can’t play him, Porter, Gowers and even Weightman all together and expect to beat the top teams.

I expect 2-3 changes, and will be disappointed, but not surprised, if McLean is not one of the 'ins'.

Nah, bugger that. If Toby is not picked, I will breach lockdown by driving into the Melbourne area, and dumping a steaming pile of um, clingy boiled rice at the main entrance to VUWO. I'll show that Beve Lukeridge who's who.

I'd give Gowers one more chance but if he tries to throw another game he will be sent to the naughty corner.
No more chances! We can’t afford to carry players. He is good for crashing a pack that’s all. Has just had far too many brain farts and last night was probably one of the worst, thank god it didn’t cost us the game.
