Changes v Richmond

That's a compliment. Your list includes Mzungu and Ibbotson so any footy claims you make are void.

He put body pressure on but was caught behind.

Sir or Madam, if one is caught behind, a fist should be used to spoil the ball and prevent an opponent from marking.

No shit. Thanks captain obvious. He was caught out of position and applied as much pressure as practical using his body to try and affect the spoil hence making Sloan's mark contested.

That is interesting because I get the impression that Dawson could get 2 kicks, 2 handballs, one mark, have 5 goals kicked on him and people would still be praising his spoiling and consider him vital to our back line. :D

Give it a rest. Your whining is getting tiresome. 95% on this board have said Dawson had a bad game. Why is it so important for backmen to get big stats?

WOW, was a light hearted response to another persons quote to show it goes both ways. Did I hurt your feelings earlier?

Edit: I was worried that my whining may have been becoming tiresome but then checked and have only made three comments on Dawson, all in response to you, plus this obviously facetious one. I will go back to biting my tongue on Dawson for a while.

I wish I was wrong, but I'm not. Good luck to you & good luck to Pearce. I'd love for him to play as well as he possibly can.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Mate you're wrong, don't say your not. Pearce is one of our best players this year and has been uber consistent. Your welcome to your opinion but don't say it is correct because it's not.

broken record

not joking at all.

he is not up to it.deserves to be dropped & Mzungu and Roberton were far better. Ibbotson had a quiet game, but Pearce was poor again. last week he was ok, but wasn't he on kerr?

There's no way in hell Mzungu was better than Pearce.

Sloane ominously had 4 or so touches in the first 5 minutes after tearing us a new one last time, but Pearce kept him to 17 touches for the game. With 16 touches and a goal himself he at least broke even with one of their most dangerous mids.

Meanwhile Mz ran around on his own and collected 11 touches for the game, and I can't remember many of them being effective.

There's honestly no point arguing with him anymore.

But Sandilands said his recovery was almost complete and flagged a return to the Dockers' line-up as early as this Saturday against Richmond at Patersons Stadium. "I've got a match simulation session this morning,'' Sandilands told Mix 94.5 yesterday. "The pleasing thing about that is when you're doing it, you're close to playing again. I'll be right to go next week.''

Great to hear but I don't think he will be able to convince Lyon to play him this week.

in the first quarter Sloane took what turned out to be an uncontested mark on Pearce when all he had to do was touch the ball. the result was a goal for the Crows. A couple of minutes later he missed a goal on the line when it hit him above the knee. When the game was tight at that stage he cost us 11 points.
Rarely makes mistakes?
His decision making is suspect.
Suban must be the first dropped on output, judging by today's game, but Pearce was definitely not good & should be dropped.
The way some posters go on about him it's as if he has discovered a cure for cancer, stopped all wars & should be Freo captain as well as Aussie cricket team captain :D

Wow, really.

Sloane took a 'contested' mark on Pearce because Spurr fluffed his kick. Pearce had to piss-bolt back to contest it. I think Pearce will only ever be a bottom 6 player in the team, but you need these sort of players that can contribute bits and pieces to the team, and not be a nothing player like Suban/Van Berlo/Chricton. Pearce easily deserves his spot.

I'd keep Spurr. I think he didn't handle going into the breeze that well. Seemed to stuff most of his kicks going to right of screen. Plus one game shouldn't break a player.

The one player Im still not convinced about yet is Lachie Neale. I know it's only his first year, but picking best 22, I'd have Walters and Ballantyne above him, and to play finals football we cant carry around too many smalls. Look at the Adelaide side - even their smalls look like they hit the gym more that our bigger mids.

I almost think Roberton could do the Dawson job better than Dawson..

Out - Suban, Neale
In - Mcpharlin, Fyfe

Not sure who to leave out for Lower. Maybe Mz

It is a conundrum - Griffin has been more effective in the ruck this year than Sandilands for whatever reason.. Today I noticed Keplar going in as second ruck in tandem with Griffin quite often. It appeared very effective - do we mess with this? Is Sandi and auto-selection when fit ? I am not sure if this is the case at the moment after all he has been out for some time.
Griffin is far better round the ground and a better pack mark. For the moment we know what we are getting from Griffin is good . If it came to one or the other I would keep Griffin until we can be sure Sandi can hit our guys. Not much time left for finding out.

IMO sandi is a definate in,griffo stays too.

We've improved significantly since sandi went down,we'll be even stronger with 211 running around.

Out - Suban, Neale, Ibbo

Ibbo unlucky but our backline is solid. Midfield needs strengthening
efa..

Roberton played a good game I thought today, meanwhile I didn't see Ibbotson do a whole lot out there.

Potentially add

Kepler ------> Anthony;

to those changes also.

Just read through the thread, it appears i'm doing it all wrong.

Out:
Pearce - couldn't make someone else's shank look good
Dawson - couldn't shave his head and surgically remove his smug smile in time for the game
Mzungu - clearly we have better running options to come in from the WAFL

Where's the call for Pav to be dropped? Only 2 goals on a 20 y/o KPD?
Hill - even more useless than Hill today
McPhee - I just love his handballs to advantage coming out of defence

Amidoinitrite

For christs sake, Clancee Pearce was in our best half dozen again today and would be in our top 5 b and f right now. The guy rarely makes mistakes and always gives 100%, what more do people want??? Would drop 10 blokes or more before him! One of the most improved players in league in 2012

really? I thought he was pretty bloody ordinary. He does always give 100%, but i disagree with the rarely makes mistakes, he usually makes mistakes.

The bloke is rubbish

They were both ordinary. Mzungu was the worst of the two, but Pearce was playing turnover magnet most of the day as well. Also Mzungu has no idea how to play a zone..

i wasnt joking. Pearce regularly made mistakes yesterday, but i never omit him with actual expectations of him being dropped, lyon loves him. Mzungu on the other hand, should be playing for perth next week, he was horrible.

I wonder if patty dangerfield would have dominated in an under as much if nick lower were in the side throwing his weight around. Not saying he should have played in the end, because i think he needed a run in the wafl after his concussion issues. And im not saying lower would have been the difference, but dangerfield just got the ball at will in the packs, lower may have been able to atleast put on some physical pressure against him.

he dominated for perth this week apparently, so hopefully he comes straight back in to make deledio and co. touch cloth a little
