Going best case senario with Fyfe and Mayne fit:

Ins: Fyfe, Lower, Mcpharlin

Outs: Suban, Ibbotson, Neale

With Mayne playing then back, centre and forwards that's a lot stronger team imo.

If Fyfe isn't fit Neale stays, Roberton has passed Ibbotson for me. One good wafl game is enough to say hi Lower bye Suban.

If Faulks was ready maybe try instead of Spurr. Though it's a big game to TRY anything.

If Sandiland's really is fit then... We can't drop Griffen and we can't leave Sandi out. So Bradley goes and we have to make it work BUT I want Sandilands back at 100% not just ok, if he needs another week take it, if he needs a wafl game fine just come back running and jumping.

Outs
Ibbotson Suban Mzungu Hill (Just no effort from Hill. Had massive periods where he wasn't even on screen)
Needs a kick up the arse
Ins
Luke, Fyfe, Lower and Sutcliffe

no way hill gets dropped. he had a bad game, but has been one of our best all year.

it's justification. Both were being tagged as their teams best playmaker. We all just expect it when Crowley takes the oppo's best out each week but don't always want to cut Hill slack when he's getting the equivalent of Crowley following him around all game.
I was frustrated with Hill yesterday too, sometimes he just doesn't seem to able to will himself into the contest but the thing is if they left him alone he would rip them to shreds. Needs to get angry methinks.

I agree with that. Hill needs a better quality midfield around him to help him get off the leash more often. I believe WC tagged Fyfe not Hill in the Derby. Having a team with Fyfe, Hill, Morabito, Mundy and maybe guys like Sheriden, Sutcliffe and whoever else we recruit will make it harder to simply tag Hill every week and still expect to win a game.

I dont think they should be making too many changes after a spirited performance...Adelaide are a good team and its very hard to win there, Hpoefully we get fyfe and macca back. suban and dawson should go.

I've lost count of the times I've heard: Hill needs...

Hill needs....:D

Hedland was better at Brisbane than Freo simply because he had a better midfield around him. As E shed said, we expect Crowley to take a player out of the game but when someone else's tagger takes our ? most damaging player out of the game you get upset. He needs to improve his game, no doubt, but we also need to improve the quality of our midfield so it's not so easy to just drop a tag on Hill each week.

He's had 7 games this year of less than 15 possessions. I expect that after almost 4 years he'd be getting more consistent.
Even last week when we were smashing the Eagles with the midfield carving it up, he manged 14 disposals.

I think he can produce more. We are expecting him to produce as well as other premier midfielders.

Thought he should have done more last week. People were saying a few years ago that Dangerfield was a poor selection and that they should have taken Ebert instead. He just took a little longer to develop than seems to be expected with midfielder's these days.
Besides 14 top quality possessions is better than 25 junk possessions. What Hill is doing more of this year than he was last year is hurting the opposition with his possession. It's a step forward.

When Swan gets the arse @ Collingwood do people there think "Swanny's out today...ah bugger Pendlebury is in the shit...won't get a kick"?

I guess I'm tired of waiting for that level of consistency.
Dayne Beams and Steele Sidebottom are making Collingwood what they are...they're not sitting there hoping Swan will get them a kick.

we dont have any second tier players anywhere near the quality of those two... in fact other than fyfe and sometimes hill and mundy, we dont have any midfielders of that quality full stop. we need our second tier players like pearce etc, but before that, we need true quality, which we just dont have, in fact i dont think we have ever had that unfortunately

I'm talking about critical mass. We tagged Thompson, and put Pearce on Slone and they still had two or three TOP quality midfielders to hurt us. We don't have, that so when Hill gets tagged out of the game, like Thompson and Slone both were, it hurts us more than teams with a depth of quality in their midfield. Collingwood certainly have more quality depth in the midfield than we have. We are getting there though. They may find it harder to decide who to tag if Hill, Fyfe, Moribito and Mundy were in the same team and all fit and firing. And we will be recruiting in that area as well and bringing through guys like Sheridan, Sutcliffe and Crozier.

Sandilands back in the side would be good practice for the NM showdown... if Griffin stays in, does that mean Bradley and Clarke remain on the back up list? I'm just worried about a Sandilands return against NM which could re-introduce some of the midfield nightmares suffered earlier in the season. Could the team be so bold so as to use him as a back-up for Griffin?
