Changes v Swans

Good to see a draftee earn a shot. Would be a few years since we've waited until R4 to see one of the newbies get a crack. Strange year admittedly.
You would have got very long odds that Butler would debut before Weightman, assuming both were fit.

I got the impression from listening to Bevo that he was sending a message to the playing group by rewarding players who work hard on their fitness (*cough* Cordy *cough*) and who "have a bit of grit".

The world's your oyster son. I'll be keen to see whether that bit of grit has become a pearl on Thursday night.

Finally Bevo brings in ruck support for English!!! Oh, wait...

Also, this:

Is "Shawshank Redemption" something the AFLPA tell every player to answer as their favourite movie?

Just once, I'd like to hear a young player say "White Zombie", "The Hunger", "Rocky Horror", "Caddyshack" or "La Dolce Vita".

Naismith could come in for swans. Him and Sinclair will completely bully English in the ruck. May need assistance but just can’t see it happening

From Butler's Draft Central profile:

The real point of difference in Butler’s game is his aggression around the ball, meaning he is not the bruise-free kind of half-back who just wins a heap of easy possessions. His high-level endurance (6 minute, 9 second 2km time trial) allows him to get to each opposition attack and bring the ball to ground where he excels, giving him that repeat effort impact.

That sounds like a good set of traits to bring in.

Love the sound of this. Think one of the issues we've had is a lack of true defenders in the back half, with players like JJ and Caleb who are great for rebounding but don't offer much defensively. A couple more Crozier style rebounders who can do both would be extremely valuable and Butler sounds like he may fit the bill.

I was wracking my brain, but just couldn't remember the last time we beat GWS and then faced Sydney the following week. Hmm, wonder how we went?.....
Good point.
I'm still going to tip the Swans because I'm running at less than 50% in the tipping comp. If I tip the Swans we should win.

Better than every players favourite artist being Drake, and favourite video games being one of FIFA or Fortnite.

Why are we debuting more new players, after a win, when we're supposedly a finals contender..?
I can't wrap my head around match selection.

Probably some sore players after a couple of short turnarounds. Bevo alluded to liking the numbers we had around the ball last week so maybe Butler adds to that style.

With the compromises on training and turnarounds this year, all teams will have higher than usual turnover. Besides we know Dunkley is definitely an out so at least 1 has to come in.

This is the year for testing out draftees and rewarding fringe players for their work rate. May not even see a final series at the end of the season. Need to get experience into players or end up like the crows.
