Because Taz actually put in the yards for the last 3 weeks in the VFL with 11 goals and hard work. And Taz was actually good tonight, should have had 4 goals to his name but didn't capitalise on them.

I've been saying that MacMillan needs to have a run in the VFL for weeks. That one good game he had when he was nearly BOG saved him at just the right time. He makes all of the same mistakes that Ben Speight made last season & kept getting dropped for. At the very least, he cannot play in defence (no matter what Dermie says). He is almost as bad as Anthony defensively, yet doesn't give anywhere near the amount of attacking play that Anthony does.

BUT like someone else has already said in this thread, we could drop so many players after this game (a win, no less).

But he will not be dropped.

He's going to need a run of games in the seniors just like he clicked after a run of games in the seconds.

Taz is one of those players that WOULD benefit from continual playing in the seniors. We need to get Lachie in there with him.

I thought Taz was horrible tonight. He tries to mark on his chest when he should have his hands out, he marks with his hands out when he should be taking a chest mark.
He's too slow to be a KPF/B, and doesn't work hard enough chasing the rebound.

He may be a good VFL player (which is fine, good luck to him), but there's no way he's going to be a key forward for North, and we're just wasting time and space playing him.

Agreed. I'll even stay positive & suggest we may stick with them for 45 minutes. But once their midfield rotations kick in, it's going to be like the running of the bulls.

I agree with u mate. It annoys me that guys like Macmillan get gifted games, i'd rather see mckenzie get a real go or mullett

I think we need both Tarrant and Black to stay, but also think we can fit Hansen in. Who is out... Im not sure, but I would persist with the 3 bigs up front, and play Hansen as a loose player. TBH, he can play Forward, Back, or on the wing, so put him in.

Tarrant, Black and Greenwood were the weakest players from that performance. Taz won about 1/10 contests, Blacky was unsighted and Greenwood picked up 11 touches while Ablett and Bennell collected 69 touches between them. There's only so much that aggression can do to cover up not getting the footy, not shutting down the opposition and not using the footy well.

JMac is usually my scapegoat but I thought tonight was one of his better games. Still don't like what he brings to the table, though.

Hansen for Black/Taz. Persist with one of them, preferably Black because we wouldn't be agile enough with Lachie, Taz and Dish up forward. Someone else for Levi and make them sub. Give Patch Levi's role in the middle and let Harps play a full game at HF.

14 games he has played - would help if we had a coach who can teach... considering we cant even kick at goal, i doubt it'll happen.

And well he's contracted for another year so he ain't going anywhere other than in that senior team and in that FF role where he belongs.

For a FF? And when has he played as a FF? You can tell me? Most of the time he is on the wings because Petrie is playing the FF role not Tarrant. So how do you expect him to improve when most of the time he isn't playing the position?

I think we'll be adding a key defender next week. Grima and Thompson can't handle Tippett and Walker. I'd say the reason Keys was dropped was because GC only had Day as a tall forward.
