Unbelievably I missed this game, will watch a replay, absolutely looking forward to that last quarter.

Looking for poster insight for ins & outs this week.

Jetta reported, will he go?

Didn't look to flash live, need to see the replay.

Jetta is chance to go (big chance really) and Clark hurt his footy and spent the last term on the bench. We will find out if he needs to miss a game or two in a few days.

The big one is Dawes. IF Clark has to miss - is he ready? And if he is will he need a run at Casey first?

Viney MAY get a rest, so I'll go with:

In: Sellar, McKenzie, Nicholson
Out: Jetta, Clark, Viney

I'd hope they don't need to make too many changes, but I think we are a chance against a wounded Brisbane up at the GABBA if we can take the last quarter form with us.

It was a late, un-necessary hit and he left the ground. Ticks all the boxes. Not sure what his record is. Becoming a fan of the way he goes about it. Has some real "X" factor and is just starting to get consecutive games going. A couple of brain fades spoilt his day but I hope he can get some more continuity going.

Really want to see Kent play soon! Was very impressed with his pre season.

Viney wasn't great today, could use a rest, especially with McKenzie ready to return.

Clark's injury doesn't sound too bad, fingers crossed on the scan. Jetta's hit didn't look good, but not a great deal of force behind it, could get off.

Tempting to keep a similar side.

In: McKenzie
Out: Viney

Nicholson to replace Jetta if suspended. Like-for-like.

OUT: Jetta, Viney
IN: Nicholson, McKenzie

I'm worried we're a little too tall however, Strauss would be just as good a chance to take Jetta's spot considering his better Casey form.

If Clark's out, I'd rather bring Blease in - keep Pedo, Howe and one of Gawn/Jamar in the forward line.

If Clark out,
Out: Jetta (Guaranteed suspension), Clark
In: Dunn (If fit)/Nicho McKenzie

If Clark fit,
Out: Watts Jetta (Guaranteed suspension)
In: Dunn(If fit)/Nicho Mckenzie

Think Clark is going to be alright

Viney just had a bad game, wouldn't think he needs a rest just yet.

Mckenzie and magner both had 31 possie best on ground performances for Casey, would love it if both could come in and inject some toughness into our midfield.

In: Mckenzie, Rodan
Out: Jetta, Pederson.

Didn't think Pederson did too much after Qtr time and if we are playing both Jamar and Gawn we don't really need him as a back up ruck, also think Watts should move up forward, his defensive side of his game is struggling down back, try and get some confidence back playing up forward

Jetta will get at least 2 weeks for that hit, which is unfortunate as I liked his game on the whole today. Couple of mistakes, but hey, he's not alone there. More importantly he attacked the contest hard and gave some good run off half back.

Anyway...

Out: Viney, Jetta
In: McKenzie, Nicholson(?)

Surely Clark will be fit, lord help us if not. Either way, wouldn't mind Watts playing forward. He was a massive liability as a defender today, just didn't look like winning a contest. Let him play with some freedom and with less responsibility for a player up forward so he can start to rebuild his non-existent confidence. Not sure who moves to defence - Pederson maybe, or Grimes. Not Gillies please.

I think we're being a bit harsh on Watts here - 'he didn't look like winning a contest' yet half his disposals were contested possessions.

There were 2 contests where he clearly let himself down (vs Ward and vs Greene), and the problem with that for Jack is that the scrutiny is so high on him that that's all anyone focuses on.

He can't afford mistakes when people mark him as harshly as they do.

The only times I thought he poor was when he was indecisive, a couple of times he could have gone third up after zoning off - then clearly stopped because there was another Melbourne player in a good position, they then fumbled - turned over and then it does look bad for Jack when he's off his man.

The thing is if he went to the contest and won the ball we'd all be praising him, zoning off is a fine line - he just needs to rebuild his confidence and he'll improve rapidly.

Plus they only time his man really got the ball clear was when the Giants miss hit a couple of clearances, very hard for a defender who zones off to read that.

It's best he stays down back for now, his kick ins were exceptional all day as well.

Jetta is Gawn for at least 2 weeks.

Viney did not play badly. He was played out of position. Dumb move by Neeld. Wack him in the midfield and leave him there. Clark will be ok I hope.

Yeah, he did - it's not the end of the world, Viney needs to learn to be versatile.

He's had a few niggles recently, maybe he needs a rest - a returning McKenzie would be a perfect chance to do that.

Out;jetta, clark if injured, give viney a rest

In: nicho to play forward to tag hanley, mckenzie to tag rich bring in kent for a crack
dont need seller back gawn can play forward then ruck when jamar needs rest in forward line

Out: Viney, Clark, Watts, Jetta
In: Toumpas, McKenzie, Sellar, Joel Mac

Calling it right now - Toumpas, Sellar = two play who cannot play at the standard, for one reason or another - we can't carry them to the Gabba.

Macdonald; has come off a 3-4 week hammy lay off...

Unlikely.

Didn't know about the hammy. Sellar will play if Clark goes. Nicho in instead of Toump then.

I'd love Sliding, but unlikely IMO

I'm not sure about Sellar coming in - to be honest we were very tall against GWS (and it worked because we could out-body them), I think with the Lions having players like Golby and Hanley in the backline we'd be up for a slaughter playing 4 legitimate talls (Jamar, Clark/Sellar, Pedersen, Gawn) - especially with Jamar moving like a truck.

It'd be so easy to rebound out of our 50.

I'd prefer Blease come in, he's had some decent VFL form over the last two weeks - he's got pace and x-factor.

Even if Clark gets up I'd probably want drop one of Gawn or Jamar on second thought, although both performed well.

In: Nicholson, McKenzie (Blease)
Out: Jetta, Viney (Clark)

The reason I'm taking Blease instead of a tall forward as a direct replacement is a reshuffle of our forward line if indeed Clark is out.

Jeremy Howe = goalsquare.
Cam Pedo = second forward.
Byrnes moves up to the half forward flank, pushes more to the midfield.
Blease replaces him in the forward pocket. Davey alongside.
Roh Bail sub. Need him for pace later on I reckon.

Why is everyone dropping Viney?

I would play terrible if I was played deep in the forward line even though I was an inside midfielder as well.
