Really looks like we’re one midfielder short, especially someone with class.

With Billy i just think its a matter of defence. He got torn up a bit against North, and its likely cost him a spot.

Going to be a big night for Pedlar, with Rachele closing in on a return. It could likely be his last chance to stake a claim.
What happened with Charlie Edwards? Wasn't he getting midfield minutes earlier in the season? Billy just didn't quite look like it against North, so had to go. I guess for tonight we do have the option of Bond moving forward and subbing Smith on if we're struggling a bit. Pity Taylor's dropped off a bit, as his skills are fine - just goes missing too much. Hope to God Pedlar is up to it, as well as hitting the scoreboard (hopefully), he'll need to shutdown some of their run out of defence given our dinosaur forwards (esp Tex) cannot run.

Charlie played most if not all the SANFL season at half back.

I agree. I love Cookie, and actually see a lot of Stevie J in him, but he can’t play a final after 4 days. Was anyone kept out of the 2’s today? Because surely anyone under serious consideration wouldn’t have played today. Pedlar maybe?
Great comparison with Stevie J.
He was coming from a long way back with conditioning when drafted, and that fine but he's still not fit/strong enough.
If he could get ripped this coming preseason he will be an absolute weapon next year.

Peds is going to crunch some blokes tonight, it's in him.

Look, I've mentioned this before, but ROB's tackle on DeGoey in the last game was the most aggressive I've seen him. He basically picked him up, crunched him, and threw him away, much to the flog's chagrin. That's what I want to see in the first quarter.

The old "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face" method.

Spot on, I don't want the Collingwood players leaning that field tonight pain free. We need to make sure they remember this game for a while win or lose.

If Rankine, Max and Rachele (and everyone else) were available - I would be happy to drop Cumming.

You are correct 1970crow - criticizing Isaac Cumming is a no go on this board.

Although I am curious as to how all these laughing jokers are feeling after last night considering they laughed at the above post:

Peter Doherty Mostyn Drugs Are Bad Mackay? steve9798 WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot DangerSloane Kane McGoodwin Samcro24 MrBarry jbanger

How you lads feeling? Happy with Isaac Cumming and his 1 kick 2nd half?

So what are your thoughts?

He's no good?

Or he is good and...?

So what are your thoughts?

That based on his form he was droppable. We couldn't do it because we were missing too many key pieces.

Just dont think it was a laughable suggestion - as proven by his 1 kick 2nd half in a final.

I think he is being played out of position and has been an absolute disappointment this year. We paid way too much to get a guy who is producing less than Chayce Jones did in 2023.

Yeah, I've found it frustrating especially lately

He screams quality to me. Everything he does is clean, smart player, uses the ball well, good in a contest when needed, good decision maker

The opposite of Jones or any of those number generator players

So why do we not get the ball in his hands more often? Why isn't it a priority? Surely it's the specific reason we got him.

Because our other wing and hbf options absolutely blow and it would matter if Sholl or Jones or Laird get the ball 25 times per game it makes no difference to the result it seems strange

We need Milera, Dawson, Cumming, Curtin to be carving up on the outside but instead they are left doing grunt work and we use our wings for structure more than damage

Yeah I've made this comment before but there's a reason barely any of our wings have an impact and its structure. Cumming hasn't suddenly lost the ability to find the ball he did at GWS.

We don't use the wings often for generating run and carry and changing lanes. We mostly skip them and go straight to Thilly, Dawson Fog or Tex and if the nearby wing gets a touch in this play its more of a happy accident for them. Collingwood clearly worked this out.

Even Curtin only impacts as we sometimes use him as a get out of jail kick.
