Tbh if there was a time to give Westhoff a 'farewell' game, it's this one

Westhoff's farewell game will be when Port win the grand final. The Hoff will kick 3 acrobatic soccer-style-bicycle-kick goals and win the Norm Smith Medal. He will then symbolically give his medal to Jack Watts and they will eat some corn chips in celebration.

Yep. He's our best tradeable player (The one we'd get most for). As you say he has an attribute that other clubs would want. I'd live to see him packaged up in a deal that gets us up the draft order.

I have been qs critical of Bonner as anyone and don't want him selected right now but I still wouldn't trade him.

He has a bucket load of potential to be a very important player.

Just look at the development of Hammer as he has aged

There was a play on the outer wing in the third quarter where he received a handball where he just had to keep going and kick on his natural left foot, but instead inexplicably turned right, back into traffic. I don't want him anywhere near the finals.

That was near my seat and I was dumbfounded by the play.

But it happened several times by other left footers Amon and Farrell and other players who are right footers handballed to right footers who were forced onto their left foot.

Should be Farrell out but without access to data and coaches thoughts and whatnot hard to name an in. Woodcock was obviously dropped for a reason, likely lack of defensive pressure, but hard to know if he has gone away and worked on that. Hopefully he has.

Sutcliffe and Mayes offer medium sized versatility whilst Westhoff offers us tall versatility. All three players have their haters. I think objectively Mayes and Sutcliffe have been serviceable role players whilst Westhoff has been horribly out of form, but has experience and potential if he finds form. Also kicked 4 goals in his last scratch match. Pies seem to play quite tall from what have seen so it could well be Westhoff in.

I wouldn’t have a problem with whoever the coaches choose as it won’t make the difference in the game and I am sure would be a good reason for whoever they choose, whether it be trying to get Westy some form, Westy being a good match up for height, or just getting some run into the legs of whoever so they have some sort of touch should they be needed in finals due to injury.

If I had to make a call, would prefer like for like in terms of height and position, that would service us for a finals campaign, so f*** it, bring in Sutcliffe, haters gonna hate.

Don't mind it and I agree, far too much hate towards the players on this site. Just don't understand it. We are top FFS and the kids coming in are doing their job. Relax and enjoy!!

We could never get Hammer out of the medical room thru a multiple of injuries concern, but at least Bonner is fairly sound in body. Yes he is worth persevering with as his yesterday’s form was quite encouraging. With health on his side he may even pass Burton in the pecking order.

He was at fullback because he had run hard defensively when his man pushed up into their forward 50 to follow them.

It's fair enough having a player be a whipping boy when he deserves it, but you also have to give credit when it's due.

Based on form, Farrell should go out.

Rest Ladhams and Lycett in the back lines and bring in Mitch G if Clurey is out. Those 2 lads should be able to nullify Cox.

I think you've got to play someone who can get the job done if needed in the finals. Watts if he's fit, but doesn't sound like he is confident in his leg? Is Pasini ready? MG, with the option of swapping him with Marshall if needed? Westhoff is out of form & hasn't really done well when needing to man-up in the backlines. This scenario should really have been looked at a month ago...
