I'd make Toumpas the only change. Not sure on the extent of the Viney injury or Byrnes, but I'd bring in one of those for Toumpas.

The rest of the team deserve to play again next week after that.

Yep Agreed, just the one change, get some continuity about the group!

If available I'd take Jetta for Byrnes. Or alternatively, Watts to play up forward.

Forgot about Watts. He should be a chance for next week as well.

Freo in Freo could get very, very ugly next week, but this team today had a crack for 4 quarters and deserve another chance with minimal changes.

100% agree with CFH byrnes or viney in for toumpas.
The only other one i would consider is maybe watts for trengove... He needs more time off to rest, maybe a run in the VFL to get his skills back up but 5 possesions in the first half is not enough from anyone let alone a captain

wouldnt matter if toumpas was fit next week i wouldnt pick him
like gawn but would rather watts up forward
have to go smaller so maybe sellar out for byrnes
sellar and toumpas for viney and byrnes give watts another week off from AFL so he can go a couple weeks without being the whipping boy

Bail must have been good whilst I was blinking? The rest I agree were good. dont think we'll hear much from the Sellar haters this week.

... and by good I mean... you know... for us..

Jetta, Toumpas, McKenzie out
Watts, Viney, Byrnes in

Would like to change a few more out, but we don't have much to back up with.

I'm down with the continuity thing but fresher legs are also of concern at Pattersons.

McKenzie is borderline atm and I'm expecting Trenners to completely blow up next week if he still hasn't got over his problems. Strauss struggling without a clear role too.

Byrnes in for Toumpas and possibly Watts for anyone.

I'll be interested to hear how Kent went for Casey.

Kent didn't play for Casey, was emergency at the match. Same for Davis. Toumpas reported as rolled ankle, was up and about in the rooms apparently. Surprised if he keeps his place if Viney and Byrnes become available, which we'd have to hope is the case, not sure what the deal is with Viney's toe.

Sellar has always been good in defence, it's up forward that's the problem. He's reliable, and I'd give him another week with McDonald in the 2nds.

Interesting I thought Strauss was really good defensively and in the contest - needs to get more involved though, that should come with a bit of time getting used to the speed.

Should be given kick out duties, Frawley and Dunn had some absolute howlers today.

IN: Byrnes, Viney, Watts
OUT: Bail, Gawn, Toumpas

Get some confidence back into Gawn, we don't need two rucks against a very depleted Freo ruck department.

Thanks.

Yeah Viney's toe is an interesting one.

Out: Toumpas (ankle), Bail, Sellar (?), Gawn (?)
In: Viney, Watts, McDonald (?), Byrnes (?)

McKenzie... well, he stays because there's not really anyone to replace him.

Bail offers very little IMO, which is a shame because I thought he would be a good player for us. Can't really kick, and brings not much else to the table.

Tough to drop Sellar, who was pretty good today IMO. Maybe Dunn could go instead, but Freo's forward line is not super tall.

Strauss definitely stays in. I like his work one-on-one against the smalls, he shows a bit of strength there, and offensively he is building. Disposal efficiency would have been right up there. Yeah, 83%... only 6 disposals is surprising but TBF he was playing back pocket on Nahas I think? Nahas only had 7 touches too.

Dropping Gawn could be an option for Patersons... I guess that means Sellar could give Jamar a chop-out.

I might have been harsh on Strauss. I'm just not convinced Neeld has a clear plan for him. But, admittedly the more games he gets the more his confidence grows (ideally).

I thought Nahas was going to cut sick early on so Strauss did work well in that regard. Good points TPM, CJ.

Garland, Strauss and Tapscott need to take over kickouts, Dunn's kickouts have been bad all year, long to the opposition

Tough call on Jetta.

Agree he wasnt in our best but along with Tappy was among our most physical.Physical needs to be our priority.
Agree, just think Byrnes brings more to the table
