Yep, we have names to go on other names, but i am not confident the matchups will work in our favour. We struggle with multiple small/speedy/crafty forwards. Carlton pantsed us in that area, Brisbane didn't have a key forward have any real impact and still kicked 18 goals on us. Our smaller defenders aren't the most accountable of players.

We give them too much space, we allow them to get goal side, we often lose them in transition, it is my main concern for tonight.
Indeed, that will happen with developing players, especially those with defensive roles against good, quick players in a quality team. Thats why I said decent matchups. I am not confident that we will hold them.

On a positive note those players aren't the most consistent of players, as long as they do not have a night out we might be okay.

I was tossing a coin but if we play Daw won't we be fielding the tallest team in living memory?

Unless Daw comes in for Tarrant, so we have another genuine ruck/forward to help Goldy out.
Especially since Geelong's ruck duo is very athletic.

Ok i actually have a good feeling about tonight.
North by 21 pts and Jacobs to come of age.
I hope you're right, got all my flexi points on us tonight. But I have a feeling Jacobs will be subbed out during the 3rd qtr (barring injuries).

TK are you trying to suck me into the 'Daw v's Tarrant?' debate? If so it won't work ('cos i agree with your reasoning :D)

Tas, further to your post ^^, I agree with BTrons assessment.

Considering how you are thinking, who would you have picked instead? Would you have kept Keys out and gone another mid do you mean? (not saying you are wrong, just asking)

Hunt on LT is a good match up for us. He has a short fuse and is prone to give away a few cheap ones. If LT gets under his skin he's gone a long way to winning that duel.

We'll be fine against their nippy blokes as long as we don't fall into the Carlton trap. Last week we did it well and left Hansen/Cam back. Against Carlton the long kick-out over the press smashed us to pieces.

Taylor Hunt to Boomer/Wells will be good for us also as he's been down on form as of late. Enright to Boomer will not be good though because he's torn him to shreds a few times.

We'll win this one!!! Make Harry T honest, and clamp down on Motlop, Stevie J, and Selwood and we'll finish them this time. Need zero passengers tonight

I'm actually starting to think we match up really well on Geelong, only worry is that Geelong know that if they put the pressure on we'll crumble. Hopefully we have matured since round 2 and can handle their pressure a bit better.

I am not sure if decent is right word, but I know what you mean Tron.

We get routinely reamed by small forwards, and Cats have an army of them - even more reason we need to win the midfield battle as like in the second half last time, they could just run amok if they start winning easy ball through the middle.

That's right. Not just winning the ball in the middle, but winning it from turnovers and testing our transition defence. The reaming at the hands of smaller, quicker guys is as much a consequence of our structures falling down as much as individual weaknesses, if not more.

With Pods out they become less predictable, Bartel returning hurts, their smalls forwards will eat us.

I get you are stupidly calling L.Delaney 'car keys' but I have no idea why, I suspect I'm not Robinson Crusoe on that front:rolleyes:

that's his nickname. lost his keys first day of training. :thumbsu:
