Changes vs GWS

lol Atley harper and Macmillan are veterans

How on earth are they veterans? They weren't last year or the year before that. How many "kids" does a coach have to play before he is not accused of not playing the "kids"?

Thats my point DR. He has been playing them. The issue is not playing the kids. It gets lost with dropping senior players who have been underperforming for a period of time.

I've never boycotted a North game in my life and never will. There aren't enough diehards to allow us to take the opportunity to attend for granted by choosing not to. I would've thought the events of six years ago would be fresh enough for people to give a shit every week through thick and thin.

brad scott better not play bmac as sub, must play a full game if not against gws then when would he ever be ready.he has put in the hard work with his body and grasped vfl level now its time to get minutes in the afl level.

Maybe Brad intends on playing Tarrant and giving Garner the vest. Tarrant can be subbed in the third and Garner can show his stuff. I'd like to see Tarrant back as soon as possible. Tarrant, Petrie and Black is the perfect forward setup.
Yep 100% agree that is our perfect tall forward trio.

Throw Garner, Harper, Thomas rotating through and thats one dangerous forward line.

WHAT I WISHED WOULD HAPPEN... Assuming all fit.

DROPPED: Wright, Firrito, Anthony, Adams
IN: Garner, Harper, Kennedy, Taz

Like many, I'm hanging to see Garner in the big time, but he has hardly had an uninterrupted preperation. Wouldn't surprise me to see a late change but I'm also happy for him to play another game or two with NB. In the overall scheme of things for his career, it's the sensible approach.

Ditto Tarrant. Has had a long layoff and another game or two of VFL would have made him cherry ripe.

Speaking of cherry ripe, I would have liked to see Spud for Kennedy

As other astute observers have noted, Patch was serviceable against Freo, but that should only buy him one game at a time now

One from left field. Has anyone mentioned Wood? I would have thought on preperation, he was more advanced than either Garner, Harper, Wright or Patch for a small forward role.

Would Like to see spud dropped....not our future and have a look at Kennedy.Patch is lucky but I love him as a player,Garner will get his chance soon.
As for the coach, I still rate him and hope he comes through all this shit. He seems to be learning with the players and will be better for it. Maybe we need a Roos/Eade or even an Ayres who has experience to help Bon get games over the line.
In Bon I Still trust.

I think we are at the point now where unfortunately even a 150 point victory over GWS would not make us happy, simply because it would prove nothing and just paper over the cracks/deficiencies in our players/game-plan for another week. If people got excited you could be sure it would all be undone in the following week/s against better opposition. That is the sad reality at the moment, not a nice feeling for us diehard Northerners:(

Win the next three then will be sitting 9th nd 10th on the ladder 1 game out of the eight still a chance of finals footy

Please don't attempt to speak for me.

The only thing that will dismay me is if McKenzie is the sub again. Has to play a full game.

Adams as the sub, although I'd have picked Garner for that role. Love Spud but he is getting away with murder this year.

This, due to this...

(From the review in the north app)
"After signing a new two-year deal during the week, McKenzie will be aiming to play his first full game of his AFL career. His two appearances in 2012 were as a substitute, and in the same role against Fremantle he collected 12 possessions in only 35 minutes of game time.

His ability to hit a target by foot saw him lead North in inside 50’s despite his limited minutes. Those skills could be a part in rectifying the decreased scoring output in the Roos’ last two games."

The past 2 or 3 years we've had to get games into our kids and we payed the price (smashed by top 8 teams). Go back and look at all the Cunnington (et al) won't make it threads. We don't have to do that anymore and just playing under developed kids for the sake of it (even on the back of half decent VFL form) just opens us up to ending up like Melbourne. You need bigger bodies about the place, you need experience to set the tone etc. Brad McKenzie may get the jacket again, but that would be as a measure to ensure he plays 10 years and not 10 games. In fact some one like Atley might have been better served going back for a while.

Calls for Harper to return are a bit premature. People wanted him dropped after the first few rounds so what has changed? He picked up an ankle injury and hasn't shown much else in the VFL. Let him get his confidence and find the football first. Levi earnt it. AK (hopefully), Jacobs, and Gys are being made to earn it so they deserve the chance. Hopefully Wright can find form and earn his spot back.

Paper over? Come on, name one person, just one, who is likely to think our season's not a train wreck after all just because we flog GWS. Biggest bullshit call of all time to say beating a bad team is papering over problems. People just aren't that dumb.

FFS, gotta stop reading this thing on tapatalk and let the ignore list do its thing (again, acknowledging that I am just feeding the troll).

Fair call, that is a great attitude to have. Be good if the players took a similar approach to how they attack the footy and the man.

This was a great opportunity to play Currie.

I am not so worried about Harper, Kennedy etc, think this guy deserves a crack. Maybe I am thinking too radical and should just stick to the same guys every week.

I couldn't have said it better myself. 'Toes is spot on. I have been somewhat dismayed at our selection policy, by the coach, by the Wonder Woman, by the players, yet I will not miss. Because I'm NMFC 4 Life. Some of you soft **** Turkeys need to pull your head. O.K. head in. The true Shinboner Spirit is to never say die. Never give up. Don't hurt the club because player X hasn't been dropped or that the Coach has sucked eggs on match day or that Wonder Woman is our president. Boycotting a game is weak. :stern look

Big H, stop putting facts and sensible analysis into these arguments. They have no place here.
