No doubt it will be a mandatory requirement for all players to successfully wrestle and subdue a croc in order to be passed fit
Then a quick dash around Ayers Rock and back

Two emergencies? Lynch is going to be a late out isn't he?
I am not sure. However direct flights to Darwin are extremely limited only Qantas and Jetstar. Would not want to be here if more than one injury and trying to get a replacement

Like the Gooch but agree he’s not where he needs to be right now.

Clearly they want him as a best 22 and giving him every opportunity to run himself into some form.

Rightly or wrongly, I get the feeling we place a lot of importance on a players ability to hold the structure of our zone/game plan. It’s stuff as supporters/Media we probably struggle to identify and generally isn’t shown in statistics. This would explain why some players seem to continue to get unjustified games, whilst others struggle to get a spot.

I would suspect that whilst Gallucci hasn’t been setting the world on fire offensively, they’re very happy with his ability to fill the structure and play the role.

From an individual level, I think Gallucci needs the gametime at AFL level for his development, whether that’s best for the team is more debateable. His first half against West Coast was quite good, the struggle is staying involved. If he can bump his possession numbers up to 17-18, suddenly he’s making himself a lot more difficult to drop.

Can only assume [Atkins is] performing as they want him to.
Yeah, I don't get it.
When we're dominating, he looks good, but even then he can be a momentum-stopper with kicks ootf or straight to oppo players. His unwillingness to tackle (avge 1.4/game, awful, right down there with Gallucci also 1.4 and Hartigan 1.3 (!!) :poo:) is obvious to all of us. He's a noted contact-avoider. It's unacceptable but not, apparently, to Pyke and Co.
JJ was dropped, so why not Atkins as well?

Does anyone have (or can please tell me where to look for) stats on how he fares compared to other outside runners in the Comp., especially tackling?
(OK, deaneus, not the evil Google ;))

If Atkins was a right foot kick he wouldn't be in the team imo. This is a major reason why MC put up with his lack of contested work and non tackling. If we draft or trade a half decent left footer or player skilled on both sides than can tackle he's in trouble. He's more than likely in trouble end of year regardless if we need a player to get a trade or pick swap over the line.

You are now on a Terrorist Watch list.
I for one love our Google overload and especially appreciate how after 20 minutes after I ask my wife via a text message if she can drive me and the boys to Pirate Life next weekend for a tasting session, I get Pirate Life advertisements in my Facebook feed.
Google has just added you to that Terrorist Watch list :D, and me too probably just for typing the words .
I don't do Facebook (I just don't get it), exactly because of the link between your ("private") text messaging & the Facebook feed response.
That's bloody Big-Brother-creepy, of which I want as little as possible.

(btw what's Pirate Life? I am now too scared to Google it thanks to you and deaneus .
Somewhere for you to get a little Arrrrr & Arrrrr? ;))

You reckon it's as simple as that?
He must be doing something else that the Coaches like that I don't see (?).
He ain't. One of the main coaches must like him. He does get us out of trouble with his left foot. Gains extra territory with it. Is fairly important when hemmed on the boundary. Our gameplan has gone very wide so he is likely immune to being dropped.

He's averaging just over 12 touches a game and has only managed 1 goal and 7(!) tackles. So he's not kicking goals, he's not making tackles, he's not racking up possessions. So what is he doing? Running good patterns?
Facts are there; really good questions :thumbsu::thumbsu:. Add to that ONE contested mark, total, and 2 one-%ers, total, in 5 games.
As for "running good patterns", we have Atkins/Dmac to do that .

He’s been in perfectly good form prior to last week. As I said, ranked 5 amongst AFL forwards across the last month.

He was 0.00 chance of being dropped and, given his form, only the serious haters would be thinking he was under pressure.

We always expect the haters from across the border, but I must say it’s quite sad the amount of hate he gets from our own base.

And don’t come back with “oh it’s not hate” - of course it is, if it was objective analysis then it’s very simple - the stats don’t lie.

Hating on him is the only conclusion to be drawn when his performances are being ignored, and there’s a few here that should be ashamed of themselves
From me it's not hate, I love the bloke.

His best games this year have been against average opponents, and against Port he was smacked by Clurrey.

He was no chance of being dropped, but 5 games against ordinary opponents doesn't fill me with confidence.

That said, I hope he kicks a bag tomorrow night.

With Mackay as travelling emergency any player under a cloud will be put under the most gruelling fitness test ever encountered
Hope they checked DMac's locker for voodoo dolls before they left!

Our gameplan has gone very wide ...
Oh, for the days of Blighty, who recognised the simplest, most direct (and therefore quickest) way to goal was through the middle, made them play that way, and got us 2 Flags. *sigh*
I doubt he'd tolerate Atkins' weaknesses.

Blight turns 70 next year.
Let's give him a 3-year $6m WELCOME-BACK contract + around 3K for a mobility scooter, if needed --- if not, he can use it for champagne after one of the Flags he delivers in that time.
More seriously, get him in as direct assistant/advisor to Pyke, after sacking Hart, Burton and Camporeale (which Blight would insist upon, anyway).

Yeah, I know, I'm dreamin'. :'(

*Gibbs missteps slightly getting off team bus, makes the mistake of grunting with the slight jolt*
Campo: "OK, Dmac, you're in, suit up".

I wonder how Sloane shoulder is
He won't miss unless his arm comes off, even then it'll be a close call.

I reckon it's a defender though or they'd have taken Poholke.
