Sorry, early thread, but I want to see Gourdis. In fact we need to see him.
I would give Thursty a spell and although it's harsh, we simply can't rookie Goo again. We need to know whether he can cut it. Give him the last four games.

id drop Mcguane before Thursty, I rate his defensive ability a few shades better and with Green and Jurrah looking dangerous there is a clear matchup there. Rance should be the one coming straight back in was cruel leaving him out of the side. We are unbalanced with 1-2 too many smalls

No room for King, Nason, White and Hicks in same side

Get Morton out
he is rubbish
from what I can gather he isnt that interested in an AFL career anyway
prefers to hit up the beers at CQ bar in the city

back it up a bit junior, sure they were beers or were you that pie eyed it could have been anything in his hands, sounds to me there was a whole lot of boozin going on...and it wasn't just MM:confused:

In: Rance & Collins
Out: Nason & White/Hicks

I doubt it will happen but that is what I would like to see. Rance deserves a game, played a few really good games in a row for Coburg and in my opinion was in our top 3 players against Collingwood. Got dropped and went back to Coburg and come close to BOG on the weekend. Nason deserves a rest, I could easily pick 5 players to drop, the same group of players carried the team again on the weekend and lets face it... If adelaide kicked straight we would of lost by 10 goals. I'm not taking anything away from the boys, I love that we have a never say die attitude and know how to fight back and win, but this should be our grandfinal this weekend, Melbourne have played some great footy and started rebuilding at the same time as us, in years to come they will be our so called rival. So just because we won on the weekend I dont think players should be gifted with games.

I had to listen to the game on Sunday so have since watched the game on the AFL site, and Mitch Morton is NO CHANCE to be dropped he was very good and some of his tackles were great and his attack on the ball and diving on it not to be questioned.

I would think Nason and White's output was pretty down and Hicks was similar. If any injury doubt on Collo why bother risking it? Rance to come in is the only one I would go for.

For the last 4 weeks to see what we have got.
Newman Grimes Connors
Deledio Post Dea
Goo Martin Rance
Taylor Astbury Nason
Westhoff Reiwoldt Collins
Browne Jackson Tuck
Contin Gilligan Graham Webberley

In: Rance & Collins
Out: Nason & White/Hicks

Apart from mentioning Hicks, that's perfect. Rance has earnt it and Collins obviously comes straight back.

Nason is starting to struggle with the long season and should finish the year in the reserves, even though he's had a great season. White because I'm sick of seeing him get caught and just generally not be good enough for the AFL.

In my opinion Webberly is a upgrade of White... can play the same positions but is better in nearly every aspect.

McGuane is due for a spell. Bring in the freaking Goo FFS!

ins - gourdis. rance, post, vickery collins,
outs - white, mcguane, graham, nason farmer

b/ connors - gourdis - thursfield.
hb/ deledio - post - moore.
c/ edwards - martin - newman
hf/ king - astbury - collins
f/ morton - riewoldt - hicks
r/ browne - tuck - cousins.
int/ vickery - jackson - webberley - rance.

sheesh what to do. we dont have a quality small forward so do we play sub standard players or go bigger. white had another shocker, what a terrible player. nason was almost as unsighted, again. and the first gamer hicks had a taste but geez his size means he will struggle no matter what atm. its good he got a go and im inclined to give him another taste even though im expecting little from him.
still not getting enough out of webberley farmer and king even though king was okay in fact while his numbers were not high he had a good game.

i read jamar is out this week would give graham a rest, play both vickery and browne with no jamar there. in fact would drop graham if we had a decent option just plain ordinary in recent weeks.
would like to see the iishman get a game or two and taylor given a small taste of the big time. a shame matt dea is injured would be great to get games into him as well. also if gilligan is fit would not hurt to see what he has to offer.

we need to keep on playing kids and giving them a taste of what is expected and an idea of how big the step up is.

Doubt we would make 5 changes - we did win y'know and chopping and changing can break the spirit too. I agree Nason can go back for a wee while

Gourdis on Watts and Moore on Green. Jackson to Sylvia and Edwards on Davey.

Going to be another wet and wild day...

I'd rest Nason - bring Collins back - and place White in Nason's spot.

Would bring in Vickery for McGuane - but McGuane has versatility TV doesn't, and I'm concerned we look a bit lumbering with TV, Graham and Browne.

if Gus really is that bruised and battered, give him a rest and bring TV in.

Dave Gourdis has played really well at Coburg again,” Hardwick said on Thursday.

David Gourdis (8 kicks, 19 handballs, 15 marks)

Top performance from him. Repelled many opposition attacking thrusts and set up a lot of our rebounds. Produced some exceptional chop-outs and intercept marks. His decision-making and disposal were much better in this game.

Seriously, just play the kid. What is there to lose?

Ty Vickery (6 kicks, 5 handballs, 5 marks)

Alternated between the ruck and forward line. Took a good, contested mark and four uncontested grabs, but didn’t assert much influence apart from that. Needs more presence through work-rate around the ground.

Doesn't sound like a promote worthy performance going off that description.

Alex Rance (19 kicks, 16 handballs, 13 marks)

Played with good intensity throughout and was very influential in our win. Provided the team with some excellent chop-outs and spoils, as well as some strong rebound. Beat his direct opponent and gathered 35 possessions in a most impressive display.

Not a bad effort.

Richmond could go into Sunday’s clash with Melbourne with no changes to the team that defeated Adelaide last week.“We are wanting to get guys into the side but it is a good situation to be in because the guys in the side have played well. There will be limited changes this week if any.”

Just play them please. We are not aiming for finals. Experiment.

I’d probably leave Hicks in for another game as it would be disheartening to get dropped first game. I think the few cameos he had showed polish but the problem is he is just another small and we already have so many of them.

I really want to see Gourdis play seniors now! The kid looks like a genuine gun in the VFL! Very exciting prospect.

Rance deserves a senior spot after that VFL performance and his game against the filth last week. I thought he was in our bests. Was stiff to get dropped.

If we were to bring Vickery in it would be to help out Jack up forward who isn’t get much relief at the moment. Double/triple teams are starting to nullify him and without the big Griff there he doesn’t look as likely to kick bags. Vickery may be the other option. Average game at the burgers probably means he won’t play this week though.

White was poor and can often be a downhill skier. Has had some good games this year so I’m not writing him off but he doesn’t deserves a spot this week.

Nason as many have stated is looking a little flat and probably needs a rest from the seniors. Not sure if he’s up to it yet but definitely has shown signs this year.

It’s good to see we are developing some depth with these kids.

In: Rance, Collins
Out: White, Nason

Ahh...what? Our best small forwards have kicked 13 each. For Nason that's well under a goal a game and Collins will play further up the ground a fair bit. If there's anything we do need, it's a small forward! If we had the chance we'de give half our list for LeCras!

Fair point but I meant body wise although our team is full of kids so it will be a few pre-seasons before this is changed.

settle down Le Srythmes, 1/2 the squad?

most of our small fwds are light on mids - Collins, Nason Nahas,Kingy even and our mid fwd, Morton (did pretty well as a fwd last year) is being reinvented to add to our midfield it seems.

Wouldve loved Alroy to come in and show something as a small fwd, because what we sure dont have is a good crumbing fwd - several other small fwds to get a run yet

we got needs, need to make do.
