I would give Thursty a spell and although it's harsh, we simply can't rookie Goo again. We need to know whether he can cut it. Give him the last four games.

Mcguane is great. He's our best tall defender. Would prefer him in defence. Bring in Post and Rance, give Moore and White a rest

I agree with Tugga, bring in the Goo. We need to see what he has got. We went into this weeks game with the following backline:

B: Chris Newman Luke McGuane Will Thursfield
HB: Brett Deledio Kelvin Moore Daniel Connors

IMO that is our best back 6 with our current list and where possible we need to give them the rest of the year to gel and learn the zone which is not quite happening at the moment. Blokes like Astbury, Rance and Gourdis can rotate through and also play forward.

I wouldnt mind seeing Rance on the ball at some point. Strange maybe, but he is hard at it and may be a long term replacement for Tuck, both around 190cm and 90kg.. I think Rance is a little taller but cant take a mark to save himself at the moment.

Collins should be straight back in if fit, and give Taylor a run.

True, its hard to choose who to drop and i do want to see more of Hicks. I like Farmer too, he has been playing well for a while now. I just want to see Taylor and Gourdis get a run, and Collins is a walk up starter for mine.

both players had very low disposals nason=7 and thursfield=6

hicks and browne were about the same but thats acceptable given they seemed to have more impact and have played 4 afl games between them.

thursfields always that low with the disposals and apart from a great mark and pack spoil he needs to be alot more involved, teach him a style of play at coburg and that seems to be working for everyone else.

nason, not sure why so little involvement but since he barely existed i would say give him a week at coburg to refresh

have i missed something but everybody types in our best 6 yet nobody enters Astbury whos been at CHB for about all the wins this year?

the best six is about each players covering each in the zones and therefore being a close knit defensive group.

thats why if you all forgot Thurstfeild and Moore both didnt play last week which in turn restricted Newman and lids, left connors to be critised for being to loose, the modern game is about structures, thats why McGaune was chosen to play CHF today instead of defence.

Gouridis i believe will play the last three weeks to give him more incentive over pre season as he has been terrific this year but gets better each week.

Lets face it we need to trade off a defender, with Goo and Grimes coming through and astbury playing CHB, we all can see who the coaches favour in key defensive posts.

oh got to love the last goal that the crows kicked MacGaune wouldnt of tripped Douglas if he was watching the space and the ball and not Tippet coz the ball was right behind him and he was facing the goals trying to grab Tippet then before he knew it the ball was behind him.

Good post DT. McGuane is on the outs, back home to GC and get us a nice pick, there's a good clubman. With those defensive talls coming through, it will be a massive win if we can trade McGuane for a pick that will get us a promising young mid.

I actually liked him up forward for that short time. Crashed the packs beautifully I thought. That is something we have been lacking.

Nason was rather ineffectual all day and went missing alot, he has shown his worth for the year and is a keeper. Rance was very stiff to be dropped and i would like to see a big body in the midfield. Goo must come in surely it would be doing the guys head in getting in the best most weeks but still not getting a gig. Thursfield/Mcguane dropped not to fussed which one both the same sort of player for me

Don't mind who comes out for him just need to see what the kids got for the rest of the season. Also would like Rance to sneak back in and play high HFF wing.
